Can you add a "TIP" or "ADVICE" tab in the same screen that has the information for events or the hotfixes? ItGÇÖs the one after the game finishes it sync. Make sure its in bold, 514 size font and possibly on fire. I want it to get everyoneGÇÖs attention, especially new players. I want it to contain basic information on how to play the game from the community, tips on how to survive and basic tactics. Maybe even tips on dropsuits and vehicles?
The only reason I bring this up is because after a few hours of domination's and skirmish, I felt bad for the blueberries. So many blueberries just running head fist into battle without backup, uplinks, or nanohives. ItGÇÖs terribly boring for both sides. IGÇÖll probably get a lot of crap from the community for that statement, but I honestly want to get some information out to new players. A better match making system would great, but that wonGÇÖt be happening, so just some information would be a start. Also, many players just donGÇÖt read the forums. So it would be an ideal location to place these tips or advice
The tips should be player submitted and voted upon by the community. Someone from CCP can upload the approved tips to the aforementioned tab and hopefully itGÇÖll get the blueberries to think about the team instead of themselves, at the very minimum it should get them to understand that they can make more ISK if they bring uplinks, nanohives and work together.
The tips should range from GÇ£more uplinks=ISKGÇ¥ to GÇ£Hey, you realize you have a huge map to run on right? Why not flank, place uplink, move in closer, place another uplink?GÇ¥ we can also toss in GÇ£never run in straight lines or run more than 10 feet without checking your six. Why you ask? Mother-effing scouts, thatGÇÖs why!GÇ¥ or GÇ£just because you have 1500hp doesnGÇÖt mean you should just stand still. The invisible scouts are watching you (in a creepy, whispering voice)GÇ¥ My favorite tip would be GÇ£when you immediately die at a CRU or uplink spawn, donGÇÖt keep spawning there. ItGÇÖs being camped. Bring your own uplink to a safe location and an easy 25 WP for every blueberry that spawns there. If you place it, they will comeGÇ¥ I really donGÇÖt want to just tell them how to play, but tips like that might get them to think a bit more.
What do you guys think?

What do you guys think? One of the first tips they ever hear should be to join a Corp or atleast get into squads to work together and COMMUNICATE. |

I remember vaguely from years ago statements from CCP that Dust 514 was designed for FPS players who already had played a few different types of FPSes and were looking for something more interesting. Now we have a hardcore-designed FPS being played by 14 year olds who can only play F2P-games because they don't have enough money to buy their own games.
If Dust is actually supposed to hold on until Legion is released in two to three years then we need some updates to cater to the casual crowd the game is attracting as a F2P. More merc-quarter hints, more (toggle-able) ingame hints, clearer designation of relevant information.
Just confront a few people who have never seen a FPS before with Dust and listen to their questions. Address them without changing anything about the mechanics and the game will improve massively for everyone involved. |

seems that way at times, but they can still salvage a bit of the wreckage here and just make things a little easier for those new souls that need a ferry into this world of ours
