Swarm launchers start with only 2 full magazines, including the pre-equipped magazine. Only 3 backup swarms is way too much, just fighting one tank requires constant use of a nanohive. I would like the reserve ammo to be at least 6 instead of 3.

I agree. I'd like to see the swarms with at least a third magazine (not more than two) if only to bring it in line with a forge as far as potential kills per full capacity is concerned.

Swarms are pretty easy mode right now, so if that means forcing them to carry a nano hive I am completely ok with that, personally.
What you lack in staying power, you make up in rapidly applied DPS at no aim to you.

Extra Mags will not increase dps. They will increase time actually able to fight however vs run around screaming for a hive or supply depot. |

Ya know there is a skill that adds additional reserve ammo. Get it up to 3 and you got your additional clip. |

All "launchers" in this game have a low reserve ammo capacity that makes it almost required to run a nanohive.
Swarms Mass Driver Plasma Cannon
While I feel that the Plasma Cannon's ammo supply is actually pretty decent, both the Mass Driver and Swarms definitely need a reserve buff.
The only other acceptable option would be to increase the bonus that the ammo capacity skill gives

Honestly the ammo skill on the swarm is a must because of the 1 additional clip limitation. That being said, with level 3, it gives you 9 total shots (2 additional clips), which I find to be enough. I know most people don't train this skill up, because for most weapons it isn't worth it (usually 5% extra ammo per skill level), but for the SWARM it is not only worth it, but almost mandatory (50% extra ammo for 3 points into the skill).
Train it up to 3, then you will no longer feel the need for ammo reserve increase. |
