Seriously, CCP, it sucks. pistols are supposed to be an accurate weapon, yet this gun is probably the most inaccurate thing i have ever seen. its not a Minmatar gun, so fix this! the sadder part is that the Minmatar's pistol, the Flaylock Pistol, is more accurate than the ion pistol. and their guns are supposed to be inaccurate.
the charge shot is even useless. and it stops you from shooting after its done, which is a really bad idea for a close-quarters weapon.
i sugeest you either increase its accuracy or, better yet, increase its damage. its damage is behind its other pistol cousins anyways.

As blackstar said, thats not balanced. and the ion pistol is nowhere near a "pocket shotgun." it does not shoot a burst of numerous plasma shots. it is what the weapon says it is: a pistol.
i am lv 5 Gallente assault. i have been since the HAV changes (during the dawn of the OP tank). the ion pistol does slightly better than it did, but it still cannot compete with other sidearms. its only real advantage is the charged shot, which is supposed to insta-kill "soft targets." this mainly includes scouts. however, as we all know, scouts hav been hp tanking beyond belief. so a charged shot doesnt really work.
dont tell me tha the charged shot can be good for tactical surpression, because its a close-ranged pistol, not long ranged.
the distance it can fire is fine, its a gallente weapon. but it needs to pack a little more of a punch in trade-off for its short range. even something like boosting its regular, non-charged shot damage by 5 hitpoints MAY work. i dnt think it should have the best damage for a pistol, as it has the best rate of fire. it needs to be the best dps pistol though when one fires its regular shots. especially since the pistol belonging to the race that uses the highest dps, the minmatar flaylock pistol, takes on the characteristics of their other attack style, high damage vs armor and splash damage (though the flaylock does not have too much splash damage, it once did, and today it still has some.)
