Just witnessed it. My team redlined the other. It was bad enough they couldn't get out, but then they had to suffer an orbital as they spawned in in what is supposed to be a safe zone.
Should this happen?

No and no. The redline has a purpose...it needs fixed so it can actually perform the duty instead of utterly failing. Removing the redline would only serve stompers. In PC? I could get behind that... |

The only thing the redline helps is AFKers and redline snipers/rails. And if your redlined, your ****** anyways.

Push the redline far enough back: redline snipers dealt with. Implement any one of many player thought-up ideas to solve AFKing - entirely possible now we have Rattati.
Use logic and be less of a dickhead. |

The only problem with pushing the red lines back is you basically force people to use vehicles to get to the fight/objectives. |

Depends on how much can be done. Personally, my advocacy of pushing it back hinges on three things: - pushing it back far enough so the redline cannot be used to affect the burnzone - new spawn points are created deep enough into the redline to prevent spawn camping and/or no orbitals can be dropped in the redline - the current spawn points remain where they are, but are replaced by CRUs and begin the game belonging to the relevant side.
If those three/four changes were to be implemented, I think a lot of the redline issues would vanish overnight. |

Err...what? If the redline itself is moved back - that is, the front most edge is retreated several hundred metres - how is that worse? I'm not suggesting making it deeper but not moving the edge, I'm suggesting both...
If the edge is further back, then the redline sniper is either in the burnzone (so does not require an LAV and does not risk redline death) or is so far back to be in the redline that their ability to affect things in the burnzone is effectively nil: either by line of sight being **** or by not having the range to affect important areas.
...how is this a difficult concept...? |

Should this happen? The last thing this game needs is a buff to redline sniping. So no. |

Should this happen? Couldn't get out of the redline or refused to? Most redlines are wide enough such that the enemy team cant cover it all. If the enemy set up shop in front of you redline and you can't break through, go around them.

It was Ashlands and their redline was on the west side with the spawn behind the long building where you cannot be seen by the enemy without them charging in behind the line. They were ducking for cover behind the building as our team was camping either side, even under their mcc.
