However will DUST be here this time next year on the ps3? Probably.. will it get continued to be tweaked and added to in that time? probably. It makes sense in so many ways for CCP. How many online based games have had that life span on console that hasn't been directly or indirectly ran by Sony or Microsoft? Given that, it's a decent investment if your enjoying the DUST 514 productt. Fanfest was overwhelmed by poor word choice in the presentation for DUST 514's key note speech, i urge you to go back and try and rewatch it with an open mind, they presented and showed a pretty amazing game. Was hard for myself to do aswell as I see the future of New Eden revolving around console consumers. Warframe Was being developed around the same time as DUST with even more restrictive funding, budget and marketing division. Yet it was easy once they had the product built on PC to easy port it onto the Playstation 4 upon Launch. Dust would be in that boat right now if they understood the console life cycle a bit better and even the market. Which is SOOOOO Frustrating for a CCP Fan... They HIRED David Reid As their Chief Marketing Officer, Reid was president of publishing at NCsoft West. He was also vice president of marketing for game portal GameTap and director of the Xbox global platform marketing for Microsoft. This guy should live and breath consoles... I just don't get it. Fallout4 has been in development for 6 years and they plan another 2.. GTA has a development life cycle of 5-7 years.. Legion even if they have alot of assets from DUST they can use is still 2 years of development + Dust isn't going anywhere. And as other countries start to accept PS3 tech like all of South America.. parts of Asia... India.. DUST 514 will only keep growing new players.

Balance statements I don't have to look at or care about... spending some expendable income on a hobby is nothing.. A Country club membership is 40 thousand dollars a year. Video games is one of the cheapest recreations you'll find. Time is money.. Even recreation time. Even spending a couple bucks on DUST, I have spent 10x the amount of cash on energy drinks if not 100x.

And 50k I appreciate where you are coming from, but I disagree that just because things didn't turn out as planned, that it means the game is no longer worth spending money on. Look: I spent money on this game originally, not for the BPOs or the suits or the boosters or the promise of a 10 year lifecycle, but because as a 40 year old adult, I recognize the fact that not one damn thing in this life is free. Ever. Somebody, somewhere has to pay for this game, and if you have spent any amount of time enjoying it, you have the moral obligation to contribute, and if you are not, you are a bit of a mooch. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to make a mountain out of a molehill here -- as far as moral obligations go in the Grand Scheme of Things, it's pretty trivial -- it's about the same level as listening to NPR on your local public radio station, and then ignoring them during pledge week (i.e., you feel a little tingle of guilt, and then forget about it.) And I'm not really calling out all the high school players, or even the poor college kids who'd rather have booze money that put 10 bucks into a buggy game. I get that, because I was them at one point. But if you are an employed adult with even a modest amount of disposable income, and you are still playing this game, there's no real excuse to stop supporting it monetarily if you continue to enjoy it, even now. Somebody's gotta pay for the servers and Rattati's hotfixes, and none of it is free. And if players continue contributing, the game will stay alive, if somewhat stunted, because CCP like money.
