It's a publicity stunt as far as I'm concerned. What are they even supposed to accomplish if they aren't working almost exclusively towards Legion? We've already handed balance over to the "community".
I fail to see the purpose of the CPM given the current state of things.

The game isn't going anywhere, so it's not like it really matters. Vote for the prettiest face or don't vote at all, it's not going to make much difference in the long run.
Everyone knows this is going to be a popularity contest, too few people are even remotely informed enough. And, like I said, it really doesn't make any difference anyways.

I don't get all the hate for the current CPM
This new CPM will be exactly the same if not worse. A bunch of randoms attempting to weigh in on the game, and trying to leave their mark on a dieing title.

By all means, have your fun.
Hopefully your efforts transfer to Legion and end up being worth anything at all, for your sake. I'll be taking my energy and efforts elsewhere till then, and if CCP can prove that they can actually deliver on what they're selling, I'll consider coming back and putting in that energy again.
Right now, it's not worth it. I've had more than enough of this teeter totter for now.
