The anticipation of this event sure is bringing out the tryhards. I haven't seen this many proto squads filling up the pubs in months.
Proto Caldari scouts proto cloaking and proto SGing enemies in the back? Check.
Proto heavies with proto HMGs and the eHP of a LAV? Check.
Proto heavies with proto HMGs and the eHP of a LAV driving LAVs and acting as mobile turrets? Check.
Innumerable ACRs on non-proto frames? Check.
Shameless spawn camping by the above in the hopes of getting to name a jerk0ff weapon in a dying game? Check.
Man, this event is going to be a riot. And it's not even the weekend yet. |

Look up the definition of "anticipation", and consider the temporal implications of "yet". |

To be sure--I don't blame the players at all, and have no hate for top-tier stuff in general.
It is precisely that CCP has created a ret@rded incentive for protostomping that I am complaining about. And because it's only kills in pubs that count, all the PC tryhards are queueing up in much greater numbers than normal, making the game much less fun for casual players that prefer to run solo or play with cheaper gear. Or, they have to play with cheaper gear and are excluded from the even because they don't have any prototype weapons.
Basically, CCP has taken the refuge of the casual Dust bunny away for 4 weekends in a row. I read it as an F-U to the non-fanatical and new(er) members of the community. And as a way to coerce people into buying AUR. |

Those don't count towards the contest. The rest seems like Dust as normal.
