Its clear that newbs and rubbish players alike want to run mlt gear constantly and fight heavies head on.
They are so blind of how rubbish they are that they think heavies need a nerf somewhere.
I see them in matches and they go negative a lot and run nothing but mlt gear.
Also we need balance to drop ships. They need to take less damage than tanks, straight from the judges mouth. This is balance apparently lol.
And we also need all weapons to do the same damage regardless of what it is and we need just one suit. That should be a scout suit.
Tanks are also in a nice place, they have never been easier to ignore than now.
We need everything nerfed so no one dies and we can just pretend to kill each other eh?.

While your comment is rather thin in constructivsm, i am running proto gear and heavies are hard to kill from close and far, unless you are using long ranged weapons in open space, and scout speed is ultra bitchy when nobody is using the same hardware, keyboard users straff quicker than ds3 user, i have been whinning to remove kb mouse for over 3 months now. You cant balance a game if nobody is using the same hardware conditions. Keyboards send values of 1 or 0 as input to strafe speed. Ds3 sends analog input as floating point from 0 to 1. There is an unfair advantage here. Its also very visible on the battlefied ! |

CCP Wanted (wants) to make a game that caters to both crowds. I would assume that they were going to eventually have it on both PS3/4 and PC (obviously before fanfest). The KB/M support was most likely added when their core was bitching about Dust being on PS3 and not PC (go check the history of the announcement, EVE players wanted nothing to do with the PS3 generally) KB/M was added to keep those players interested.
If, however, you say that because of the analog input you cant strafe as fast I pose this question:
If the KB/M goes direct from 0 to 1 and the analog floats from 0 to 1, why would the speed be different when you're both at 1?

Of course, take that away and what is their use?

The analog control on the stick takes a couple of frames to interpolates (more or less a second) instead of a single frame. I have no problem supporting keyboard, just pointing a fact that a scout with high speed start to straffe instantly in a frame vs a normal ps3 controller. This is cheating, not skill, this can be prevented in a couple of lines of code by emulating the ds3 or inverse, if analog input is detected in a direction it should not take more than one frame to be full impulse in a direction. The same goes for turbo buttons, even quake3 had maximum input poll time to prevent auto fire cheating. |
