I've seen this one guy in a pub absolutely slaughter with a Duvolle on his scout.
I'd probably use the Breach though. ****, it's still taking me a while to actually TRY the breach again after it's been UP for so long...
So I can pretty much tell you AR on a medium isn't bad anymore. But what about instead of a CR on a scout? That DPS counts for a lot when you have no HP. |

I generally prefer a CR but an AR is workable on a scout now. It's no longer the stupid option.

Was it me? Recently I've stopped giving a damn about personal image and started embracing proto fits, and a Duvolle fitted scout has pretty much become my go to suit. 20 kill games are minimum for my games now, anything less is a bad game.
Not that I brick tank though, I still have some pride; 327 armor doesn't hold up well against a ranged RR or a heavy within 45m.

when you said breach AR didn't do more DPS than the CR i was confused
because that data sheet Rattati gave out said it was going to. guess it didn't work out that way?
i believe i remember it was buffing the AR to about 450 DPS whereas the CR is like 530 or something, and the Breach AR was projected to be a little more than that while the Tac was to be over 700 |

I run a caldari scout with ARs. basic AR for the basic scout, gek-38 for the advance and duvolle for the proto although due to cost I rarely use the proto. It works really well. The thing is that the AR chews through shields but it doesn't do so well against armor. This means that you still need to sneak up on them. It does well again everybody except the heavys. For the heavys you have to kill them a bit at a time. Every time you hit them you have to take all of their shields which is easy with the AR and some of the armor. As soon as he is in position to fire back, you run away. You then repeat again taking out a bit more armor so on and so forth until he is dead.
The thing is that I already had the AR at max but I have no skill points on the Combat rifle. With the new changes, is the combat rifle still good? I don't want to spent points on it to find out I don't like it. Anybody with experience using both? |

Since my ACR has 85 rounds (Winmatar Assault), I can still de-shield pretty much every suit with it in short order, then ASMG their armor off when my ACR clip is empty. Very rarely do I have to reload mid-fight.

well no **** jeremy yet again you've made another captain obvious statement. to quote Rattati "we want variants to be weaker versions of the gun that outperforms them, but still be effective"
ANYWAY...
Seriously does anyone have the new DPS numbers on AR now? I want to trust protofits.com but I'm skeptical they even update it anymore. |

Its alright everyone, no need to worry it's just an Amarr scout :(

I am an engage and quickly disengage kind of person, so the scrambler rifle would be great, however, fight heavys very often, so the scrambler rifle isn't the best choice.

They can add shields to that. And he's obviously talking about Ferroscales because the number would be much higher with Plates on a Gallente. |

I've been running a Toxin on my Dragonfly scout well before the AR got buffed. It, combined with some R-9 uplinks, is my go-to suit during a stomp.
It served me well before the AR&scout buffs.

Yeah but now my AR tears up heavies like they're nothing. Don't even need the SMG combo especially on a Logi. |

@Soul, I was saying that I -don't- brick tank my scout. 2 Ferroscale plates like FOTM said. But I don't run shield extenders in the highs, I run precision mods to catch as many scouts as I can. I personally wouldn't consider a total hp pool of 415 in a game where most weapons can deal out at least 400 damage per second to be anything too hard to contend with.

Some run AR/SMG combo. AR to remove a shield, and then switch to SMG to chew through armor. |
