Efficacy is not the same as Efficiency. Also AL - U - MIN - IUM not ~A LOOOOO MINUM~

That says it was spelled alumium, then he finalized his word to aluminum. Someone else thought it didn't "enunciate" correctly, or something strange like that, and called it aluminium.

Pisses me off so much when Americans say this. You do realise us Brits were speaking ENGLISH (as in from England) long before the Yanks bastardised it. You are the ones who have incorrect spellings and pronunciations, not us. |

Nah. Pretty sure the word efficacy is appropriate used in the context of "increased output" ... are you upset because it doesn't fit Eve conventions?

So, the inventor settled on aluminium, and the majority of the world uses that standard. So why does the minority (America, in essence) insist that they are correct... when they clearly are not.
PS, I don't know why you modified my quote since I'm British, not American. |

ah one day when the world speaks international basic in the same bland accent we will miss the funny little differences in the way we speak english, although the number one thing I hate is when people say Erbs instead of Herbs, they over pronounce the H in just about every damn word then leave it out of herbs.

Lol those language barriers...
can't look at this post without pointing out that americans also have football,
which they play mostly with their hands.
(on the other hand a certain aussie comedian once pointed out that we have a place called derby (pronounced darby) whereas they called it derby because that's how they spell it.)
gotta say that both with football, and aluminium the "English" pronunciation is correct up until America decides that they speak "American". probably a matter of time... |
