Hey CCP Rattati & CCP Rouge. I hope that these things reach the two of you, and if they already have great! These are things myself and the vehicle community have been saying from far to long that vehicles need in relation to balancing them out. i will state the issues and easy fixes to these issues along with examples to prove how taking these directions will improve each vehicles intended roll so we can usher more vehicles in the game within dust or perhaps these vehicles making an appearance in Legion.
Dropships have never been balanced with AV. Currently AV has always been balanced in relation to ground vehicles. We have seen LAV' and HAV's through this games earlier timespan get radical improvements. yes some of these things have been made better, but if this game is going to be able to deal more content Dropships need some type of resistance to certain types of AV. This could be done by making high damage weapons like the forge gun excel at destroying tanks, swarms, and plasma cannons excelled at the medium to light vehicles. Currently only Assault Dropships are suited to be played. Regular dropships really have no perks to be used at the moment. They are too slow at getting out of danger and even with an after burner module these vehicles still can not have a fighting chance. I don't think they should have the handling of an ADS but they still need to have better acceleration that can help them escape danger from ground vehicles. As I and many other dropship pilots see is it is not meeting its role as a ground assisting vehicle and also being an extremely easy target for ADS, giving them little to no room to at least have a competitive fight, even with gunners on the turrets. Also small turrets on dropships and any future air vehicle really need some tweaking. Small Missile launcher splash radius is too small. I have done several test on this on how it could work and it doesn't need much but the 2.5m splash damage isn't suited for a arial vehicle that see's most small targets as spots. A decent range without being extreme is anywhere from 5m to 7m splash radius. it can be easily tested and will give promising results. For blaster turrets, I think what is really needed for them is to keep them as is and perhaps introduce another variant, perhaps an minmitar or amarr cannon. Something that has explosive round upon impact. Not looking for life like cannon fire from what modern vehicles have exactly but long as it can serve the purpose of being used against other arial vehicles, and doing strafe runs over the ground it could make using something that is meant to spray rapid damage more viable.
The only huge problem with LAV's is the rear turret. Place some sort of shield that can shield the gunner from wherever the turret is facing. Unlike dropships LAV's are better suited for stopping to stand and deliver turret fire. I would love to see LAV's playing more roles than just murder taxi's, and scanners.
HAV's are starting to be touched by vehicles and AV. This has been long overdue and is looking good so far. Though LAV's are too fast for something weighted with a hefty health points. The best way to start off with this is HAV"s first off can accelerate way too fast, and they need a much lower speed cap than what they have. Dropships and LAV's are suppose to be much faster than these, no different than the mediums and light dropsuit can out perform the heavy dropsuit frame in speed and mobility.

Short version: There's no shortage of (temporary) ehp at all. However the low transport assist ratio and the very nasty knockback make actual transportation unfeasible.
Also, I strongly advise against the buffing of small missile launchers. Especially the prototype ones are completely fool proof. Just to drive home how good they are: ADS pilots can reliably kill infantry with them without actually being able to see where they are aiming. |

Your speed argument made no sense at all. I'm not even sure how to argue against it, because it made 0 sense. |

That's because you don't know what you are reading so, please keep your remedial remarks to yourself.
