I was hurting really bad one day. I was in Tikrit at the time. It was right before we went into fallujah. The **** that goes thru your head at night in the Desert...
Enjoy i know its a wall but this poem i Read at "Spoken Word" when I was state side.
The Storm...
It started to storm, and instantly I thought.
Do you feel like me, all alone in the dark.
As the rain pours, I wonder, is there tears in your eyes.
When the thunder sounds, do you hear my heart pound.
Lighting strikes, not once but twice.
I wish it would hit me, to end my life.
These words are strong, my spirits are down.
Are you sitting in the corner, wondering how.
I feel so empty, on this storming day.
You sense what I sense, do you feel the same.
Closing my eyes, I see you dreaming of me.
Wishing I was there, holding you, feeling free.
Making you feel, a sense of security.
You second guess yourself, thinking of what you did.
Wondering if it's the right choice you made against me.
As you start to wonder, in your head of yours.
Lighting strikes, as the thunder roars.
Right then you cry, all alone in the dark.
Wising and praying, for the light to turn on.
What do you do now?-á-áAsking yourself.
You pick up the cell, no signal you yell.
"God Damn-it, I feel like I'm in hell"
Now the rain slows, and cant wait to call.
You pick up the cell, the signal still falls.
Running to the payphone, to tell me your sorry.
My mom answers, with a voice so sad.
I'm sorry Lisa, for he has pass.
You doubt yourself, hoping its not right.
So you tell my mom "He doesn't want to talk to me tonight"
No she replies, your eyes now get wide.
For now you feel, true emptiness inside.
My man is gone, I didn't even get to say goodbye.
My last words to him was "I wish he would die."
So now you know why, this storm came to pass.
It was my tears, my very last.
Now you are crying, asking yourself why.
Was it me, did I do this oh my.
You looked up to the sky yelling "Please, Please Why"
Light flashed down, words saying don't frown.
I'm not gone, I'm in a better place now.
So next time it storms, don't feel you are alone.
For every thunderous roar, I'm saying hello.
So be careful what you wish for, sometimes it comes true.
Thank God you woke up, and nothing happened who knew.
Your dreams will haunt you ,especially when it storms.
Don't worry if one day you call, I'm here for ever more.
Sincerely Yours,
The Storm Chaser
