[Fact] Assault HMGs has not been used much :/ That reason is that the normal and burst types are too strong in all aspects...
N and B need optimal and effective range nerf. These are provide sufficient power at 50m. This is stupid !!!pÇÇ
and, Assault HMG needs buff ! This is middle range shooter.
[My opinion] Adjustment of the CCP is too extreme always, I want you to stop cry the HMG user...
Normal and Burst nerf
ex1. Does not change the optimum range.pÇÇEffective range nerf. ex2. Raise the heat value, making it difficult to fire medium-range shooting from continuing fire.
Assault buff
ex1. By increasing the hit rate, so as to have the advantage in the middle range. ex2. When increasing the DPS which, therefore becomes stronger than current normall type, Do Not change damage.

I like this idea. The HMG is a bit extreme at the moment. The AssHMG could probably do with a bit of a damage tweak also IMO; its low damage isn't really justified by its marginally increased range, and I don't think an RoF range buff would cut it.

The HMG is fine CCP said so. If they change anything they will tamper with overheat.

I agree that the Assault HMG is pretty much useless right now. But I'm with Rattati on the HMG's current effectiveness (but then maybe I'm biased). Anyway, I think easily the biggest thing the Assault HMG needs is significantly tighter dispersion. It's extra range is basically meaningless when it's spread is exactly the same as a the basic HMG. So just tighter dispersion, with perhaps slightly increased range (perhaps), and would we really need an HMG nerf?

Even with decreased spread the results are the same. If it was real fire situation it could even be less since 39% of the damage is on the dot in the middle which, if not on target, wastes 39% of the damage. So 50% would be the max DPS for a perfect shot with an HMG on the optimal range.

Assualt Variant could use a minor range buff (maybe 15 more meters) but there's no need to nerf normal and burst variants. Normal only works well in CQ conditions and Burst takes skill to land the full burst on a single moving target (Especially a scout) and overheats really fast. |
