I honestly have no idea what heavy suit to spec into.. don't say gal, because I'd armor tank the shite out of that and I don't like being slower than heavies already are. I want a slightly agile but effective (hp wise) dat boy suit to go with my op hmg/forge gun. Suggestions ?

 Also,
Inb4 forum troll gives me a suggestion that I believe and I end up wasting 2 mil sp because it gets murdered faster than cal scouts when the federation duvolle specialist assault rifle fired faster than a balacs.

Yo, you're not down with the CalSen? I think you should be. To me, hands down, the best sentinel in the game. I rock the enhanced shield or complex shield extenders with a recharger. Throw an armor rep on. Go for the MH 82 or the Boundless...and go to work!!

Check it out, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Amarr + Complex Plate + Reps the rest of the way = awesome

Amarr + All reps = even more awesome but you have to use cover a little more.

You will have to work cover a little bit but the resistance to projectiles helps enough against the HMG that you do not need to be fully tanked out if you have your cores maxed.

I think that the more social you are, the greater your armor to shield ratio should be, because it's more likely that someone will be repairing you. If you have dependable friends, get the Amarr sentinel. If you are not social, you should probably get a shield tanking Caldari suit.

Actually there are only two choices, IMO, that you should consider in todays war (I say that because any future nerfs or changes could change this statement), but Gallente and Caldari are the only two good Sentinels, right now. The others are a waste of your time and don't carry the same impact as Gal/Cal suits.

Not trying to undermine anyone's advice because you just might do well in other racial suits. Who knows? But I find the Gal and Cal the most effective.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I question to all three of you is, who would win in an hmg 1v1? Cal or amarr?

1v1 at optimal range with HMG the amarr wins everytime unless you just suck. Remember I say this having level 5 in the amarr sentinel which really hurts the DPS the caldari is able to lay down.

But a lvl 5 HMG wrecks your armor based world. You have not the speed of Caldari and nor might of our suits.

But go Amarr or Gallente. Hide behind a large armour pool, and be a chained up dog with a Minmatar Logistics for a master.

Well I guess that is where it comes in that I have proficiency 5 on the HMG and run one complex damage mod most of the time. With that and a basic HMG there are very few suits that give me a problem and they are all Gallente.

If it wasn't an amarr sentinel it would wreck it, but I've faced sentinel ak.o dude with my min sentinel and his about simply would not go down. No logi, no rep hives, just me and him with hmg's. I think I'll go with amarr, just for that decreased projectile damage bonus, and if I don't like how it turns out then I'll get the caldari.. or I can skill both up to adv and then see which I like best. I'll figure it out tomorrow

Run each at Level 1 then at Level 3 to get a feel for the bonus applying as it will be about the same increase when you go to level 5.

I have never had a problem with Amarr dropsuits. The prototypes needs skillful work but still that's not even a problem.

You know what has given me hell? Gallente Sentinels and fellow Caldari Sentinel users who are better than me but mostly Gallente.

But gl on your choice! Hope to see you on the battlefield!
