You have given the small rail turret too much range. On Fracture road a player parked a Gorgon and was able park on the pipes by the tower in the center to camp A on a skirmish with his militia rail turret and 2 shot everyone he shot at. WAY too much range.

Seeing as the glitch making it phase through people beyond 200m, no, its fine.q If it made the round phase through people beyond 200, people wouldn't be successfully camping with it at 300+m

The small rail isn't broken, if anything it's finally useable after all this time. Adapt or die. Can't forge when you're busy being overrun by cloaked scouts, can't run a dropship up there with 2-3 rail tanks on the field, can't snipe that point from the redline. But thank you for your concern.
The damage is fine, and the hit detection is great now. I'm happy the small rail finally works, but when it's better than a Thales with way more ammo and clip size, that needs to be fixed.

Also, for the same reason to having to pull a tank to beat a tank is ridiculous, having to pull a small rail to drop a small sniper is ridiculous.

The small turrets are for killing infantry. Each do it in their own way. Rails kill from afar, blasters up close, missiles are midway.
You're mad that a turret made to kill dropsuits from far away, killed your dropsuit from far away. No, I'm mad about specifically the fact that an officer sniper rifle is completely outclassed by a militia turret that can be accessed on the cheap by anyone.

@Rattati: personally, I wouldn't see a small range reduction being entirely remiss, but might I suggest that you look to the Sniper ?Rifles for the problem? Aside from the Charge and Thales we rarely see other SRs being utilised: increasing zoom range might be the simplest fix for them, perhaps an additional headshot multiplier? You might want to hop in one and hit the ADS button. The difference may not be as great as you think.
@Aeon, that is a bug not a feature, the strength of a turret should not be balanced based on bugs.
@All, Ratatti has spoken. I shall now go spread the word that cheap Thales with slight range reductions are available in the marketplace and are equippable to all vehicles with no SP investment. Have fun. o7
