I have been running amarr sentinel since the beginning of uprising, always with an hmg, and i got proto cal scout when it was released. Right now the most OP thing is a cal scout, and that is what needs to be balanced first. The cal scout with survive longer than a heavy in a gun fight at any range, due to its bugged/broken hitbox and speed. Slap a basic rail rifle on a basic cal scout, and you can dance circles around heavies at close range or just gank the heavy at a distance. Currently, the cal scout is the best assault suit, scout suit (though some may say gallente), and even a decent tanked suit. Because of this, I now run a cal scout 90% of the time, only using heavy to forge gun, or if im in a great logi squad
Another thing more OP than heavies currently are vehicles. Vehicles are a delicate thing to balance however, as you need to balance price, survivability, power, range, etc. One change I think most people would agree with is to reduce vehicle power, especially on militia hulls, turrets, and damage mods. However, this would upset the balance as vehicles would be to expensive for their power, like before 1.7 (i was also a tanker before 1.7 on this account). To balance this, vehicle prices, especially those incredibly expensive ads's, would have to be lowered by a certain amount, which hopefully the community and CCP could decide upon. Also, large railguns would need a massive change, as right now they are incredibly powerful vs a vehicle, and surprisingly effective vs infantry.
After those two areas of the game have been balanced, balancing heavies would be easier and more productive, but to balance heavies effectively, assaults would need their much needed buff. Assaults are the counter to heavies at a medium-long range, so this would put a check on the power of heavies.
Please discuss this and give good feedback, and hopefully CCP will see this and the feedback and start balancing this game.

cant tell if you are trolling or not, but if you arent, i have lvl 5 amarr sentinel and have been running it the entire uprising basicly

the problem isnt just OP or UP, there are several aspects that all need to be in balance for everything to be "fair" or "balanced". I do agree the best thing to do right now is fix assaults, and do something about scouts being the new assault
