I don't think that it is unreasonable for a medium suit to be able to passively scan a light suit if the medium suit is equipped with sufficient precision enhancement modules.
it wasn't so bad before, but since update 1.8, all light suits got 10 points taken off of their scan profiles, so it would take more than one module to pick up an undampened light suit. I don't think it unreasonable for precision enhancement modules to have increased efficacy, to like, 25% at the complex level, or for light suits to have a base of maybe 40 instead of 35 scan profile.
I mean, If a heavy suit is equipped with a complex precision enhancer, then it can detect undampened medium suits.
Light suits have much greater PG and CPU in addition to having more module slots since the last update, so it is not difficult to get to a low scan profile anyway if that is the goal. I really didn't think they were too bad off when they had 45 base scan Profile. That was enough to evade basic scanners. It seems too much to need to be able to evade advanced scanners with no dampening(Gallente scouts excluded).
Am I out of line? I don't think that people generally think of light suits as being underpowered anymore, so I am not expecting hateful and insulting comments here.
In an unrelated note, I've been waiting like, half a year for scan profile and scan precision to show up on the list of stats in the drop suit fitting screen. What's the deal with that?
If this game was fun, I wouldn't be playing it.

It occurs to me that logistics suits used to have scan precision equal to light suits' scan profile. It would be cool if this were the case again, and precision enhancement modules were on par with Profile dampening modules.

Stefan Stahl wrote: Do you have an idea on how to avoid the demise of non-Gallente Scouts with this change? That is hyperbole. Scouts have much better fitting capabilities than they did in the past. If they care enough to get under the radar, then they will, but right now, it's a little too easy. I do think their scan precision should go up the same amount, so that they can't all see each other initially.

Use them.
Besides, you already get shared passives with those cal scouts in your squad. You get to have their shared passives without the sacrifice. Stop being greedy.
I don't have friends who are Caldari scouts, because I don't have any friends. That is good advice, though. I should be in squads more often. Thank you. Active scanners are fine if you don't want to use modules for range or precision, but I think that the modules should also be useful. The gap between scan profiles is just too great as it is.
