They are not. They are specific to a day on which you win a match, so make sure to play on a day when you wish you obtain specific item. :)

Lets not get technically ahead of ourselves......however coinciding thematic events and contextual lore synergies and outcomes is entirely plausible.
E.G- Blood Raiders again launch another wave of attacks against Imperial Planets with high Minmatar slave populations. They release Insorum gas over the planet, the cure for Vitoc, to free the slaves and cause carnage. Minmatar send in their troops to push back the Amarr and save as many slaves as possible, Amarr send in Templars to purge the enemy forces and protect Imperial Interests.
Result: Maps favour a new socket type, Amarr Slave Pens, with a dark, oppressive, mood with flaming wreckage and traces of Insorum in the atmosphere.
Meanwhile Valkyrie Simulates Imperial and Minmatar Fighter Wings clashing overhead in the atmosphere or in asteroid fields with Blood Raider NPC's occasionally flying around, or Pilots fighting against and trying to destroy the Insorum drops as they move to other planets. The Minmatar hoping to prevent any more slave deaths, and the Amarr any more chaos across their worlds.
Result: Valkyrie battles taking place in the Red and Gold Minmatar/Amarr nebulas in PvP and PvE game modes destroying skinned Blood Raider enemies.
Meanwhile in space Capsuleers run sites throughout the system for PvE, fight one another, and drop orbital strikes as Scripted Insorum Trasnsports fly over the planets.
Result: Both PvE and PvP options for Capsuleers with scripted events like Caldari Prime.
All lore and actions are tied together with whatever results the players managed to achieve during the event time limits.
All three can essentially be separate events, or could be tied together if technically viable..... all only require aesthetics and scripted events to run. Great fun for all of New Eden and amazing press if all goes well.

......you may call this an event, I call this standard practice on nearly any other game, whopdie do a first win of the day bonus. How about spicing up the event some and making it worth our while to actually do it. A few ways to spice up the event would be.
1. Officer items or least proto items at the very least for our time, what you are offering is insulting.
2. Add an SP and/or isk kicker to it, such as 5k isk for each clone you kill, basically combine the last event you had with this one.
3. If you sign in and get all the prizes you get a grand prize.
4. While you are having this also have objectives we can reach and do, make them simple, such as "kill 100 clones get X" or "get X number of WP in a single match and get X"Things that all players can do if put in some thought or time into the game.
5. Have special matches set up against the Devs or CPM or GMs or maybe just make them have 100% salvage rate, if you made them have 100% salvage rate I would be happy to be going up against proto players and the such and suits wouldn't be a big deal. This could actually be an event just in itself that people would probably love.
In short what you call an event just sucks and is an insult to everyone's intelligence, please cancel this event and come back with something least decent thank you. |

I would rather get nothing then get this "free gear" I can buy the equivalent or better then all of this gear with isk and I can do that with just a few regular matches or just use some of the Isk I have stored up. Really bad event, no one wants to make up a suit because they get 10 bad items from a contest.
These will sit in my inventory until Dust ends. I mean these aren't even proto items. Not that they wouldn't still sit forever endlessly in my inventory even if they were proto. |

Yea I really dont understand why CCP even bother going to the trouble with such low grade useless items. I just feel like what ever work has gone into this little 'event' could have been so much better if the rewards were much cooler stuff.
We appreciate the gesture CCP don't get us wrong, its just that these are REALLY lack lustre in terms of rewards. |

All useless in the long run... garbage as usual. Only good event is an accelerated SP event. It`s the one all non-closed beta players need, except for accelerated Isk events, which of course are nearly as appreciated. The problem with your ``fixes`` is that the only input you take into consideration when coming up with change ideas... is that you (CCP) ONLY seem to pay attention to the `bored` long-time closed beta testers who don`t need the Isk or SP, who are just looking for a little diversity. You have embraced a select few corporations into your inner circle of friends. Here`s an idea: you want to balance something? Balance the Isk/SP battle payout . THAT is a needed change, and hey... while you`re at it, why not open that market up as you have promised since forever? One thing though: don`t make it they way THEY want. It`s the newer players that need your attention. Allowing us to sell off unused, unwanted weapons, equipment and suits back to the marketplace will go a long way towards keeping us happy. Maybe make SP available for `gifting` in the same way we give Isk to needy players and corps. Here`s another idea that may bring some joy and purpose into the miserably short life of a Dust clone: Develop a line of weapon modifications like changeable clip sizes, purchasable alternate ordnance such as explosive rounds, and armor piercing that we switch to at will on the field for snipers. Give us the ability to upgrade sights, scopes and red dots, and maybe introduce EMP grenades or bombs to disable those annoying vehicular mosquitos? Okey dokey then, I`ll get off my soapbox now. |
