Here is a video of 1Shayz1 slaying using an HMG http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LT0CvQD1Xzw . Have you seen any other weapon with this kind of power? And it can even shoot at long range. I would say increase the kick & reduce a little bit of damage & RoF. |

Nope Combat Rifles are not OP anymore. Do you see anyone getting 40 kills in a match with CR without dying? NO ! but the heavy with HMG? Its pretty much immortal |

Yea, a 50 caliber weapon. Notice how close he was to his oppponents? Yea. That's being in its optimal range. So no, random clips of people being decimated up close by a 50 caliber weapon does not qualify as substantial grounds to nerf the HMG

Yes, actually...
Armor stack a Gal Assault and have a dedicated Logi support you, that one Logi video of the man getting over 7000 WP from repping is based on those same tactics.
I've done that with a RR and RE combo with a proto Cal Scout, came close with an ACR and a proto logi backing me up, done it with a Thale (Disgusting, I know), done it with HMGs, and done it with the old HAVs before the complete revamp.
Anything is possible with proper squad support, orbitals, and fighting randomers without organized squads of their own.

Is this seriously the first time you've seen KDRs like that? You've never done this before?
The HMG does need some fixes, certainly, I'm all for a faster overheat, but this video is repeatable if I too take a day or a week of matches, cherry pick my best scores, and "prove" that something is OP. Last Cal Scout match I was in my KDR was 18 ffs, and that's not the norm though if I recorded that then dear god I could fool people into thinking all kinds of crap.

I saw two kills that were outside 40m and I saw more then one person concentrating fire of them. There might have been another 1-2 that I could have missed, otherwise majority of the kills are 15-20m and then quite a few just outside 30m.
They are well within the optimum range of he hmg to deal maximum death. Also I could tell shayz is comfortable in the heavy suit with his positioning and movement, hence his reward of killing a lot of low teir suits.
I saw nothing "OP" about the video. All up close and personal.

Are you saying a heavy weapon should kill as equally fast as a light weapon?
What DPS would you prefer for a basic HMG, and for a prototype HMG, care to give me a pair of numbers, out of curiosity?

What it might get is a slight heat build up increase to stop the rain-of-death spamalot that some users are doing which are giving the rest of the heavy suit users a bad reputation. But then there always bad eggs in every category. Otherwise the HMG is very well balanced.

For the record, those scores were of 10 matches I ran in a single day. All of the videos were footage of those 10 matches in order that I got the kills. I didn't show every single one of them as some of them weren't with an HMG, or were just annoyingly long kills.
and in my original thread...I don't say anything about it being OP.
My video proves nothing, please don't assume that it does.
Also, my buddy Frost Kitty makes my scores look like crap in comparison

All i see is people jumping to the heavy class (myself too :P ). Most of the matches regardless of the map, i see atleast 10 heavies & some shotties. And yet u people say HMG is perfectly balanced  The only thing that held back heavies were gal scoutsa & REs >which now got nerfed |

You realize most of those kills were on STD and MLT suits right? Please do not for the love of all that is good and holy try to balance for pubs, you balance these things based on PC. When its Prof 5 Boundless HMG v Prof 5 Boundless HMG its a whole different ball game

It was funny, the last three matches before I got my proto CalScout I went like 29/2, 36/3, 18/0. I get the suit and fit it; it's basically the same thing as my ADV only with more shields, better equips, better weapons.
And I go 8/2, 12/4 and (I logged off after this) 4/4.
Clearly PRO gear is UP.

HMG is fine, yeah the yot massive dps DUH. they also slow, super visible on passive and scan blind against scouts.
Other classes cause me way more problems.

the hmg is not OP... here is why shayz video appears this way...
1. he is spawn camping a lot of the time... blame the idiots who keep spawning there... not the hmg.
2. he is point defending WITH SKILL! he is not running out into a fray he is letting the enemy come to him and he mows them down with ease because the majority of them are wearing scout suits and charging in with no battle awareness.
3. when he does run to a targets position it is with a logi in tow. add to that he is aiming most of the time with skill and not just spraying and praying.
4. notice he was also taking out other heavies... this could be construed as proof he is simply preforming the role to an outstanding degree since he was able to best so many others with the same gear....
no the hmg is not OP.... shayz is OP! |

That video is of a HMG heavy in it's native environment, hunting it's preferred prey. I see nothing overpowered or even unbalanced about it. What I did notice was a lack of the HMG heavy's symbiotic partner, the repair tool logistic. |

All this hmg talk and I'm playing matches in my brand new Gallente assault. Practicing killing heavies in suits that aren't supposed to kill heavies. It's fun to overcome adversity!

But I have an alt that does and extracting qq from those like you makes HMGs the best weapon in the game. 
For your information, which you seem to have amazingly little of in your natural state, the mini-gun is supposed to slay like a monster. You are supposed to keep at a distance and kill its operator. Or you will become one with the hamburger.
I_Shayz_I is using a steelmine boundless HMG. Read the specs. He has been playing for a long time and there is little doubt in the minds of those that understand the game that he has skilled heavily (pun!) into HMGs.
You seriously need to understand how the skill tree works in dust. If you don't want to then go do something else. Man a turret or drive a LAV but keep away from heavies. In particular those that have proficiency level 5 for the weapon in their hands.
Also, I noticed that this was a youtube from the viewpoint of I_Shayz_I and even posted by him. So you using it as a evidence of you not understanding this game is ... quite funny actually. You should realize that not every match goes this way. Sometimes the bear eats you and sometime you eat the bear. For a heavy, the bear often uses a CR/RR/LR. Or worse is a scout with a shotty.
If you want to slay like this then learn the game. Play this game.
Nobody at CCP cares because we ain't Legionnaires.
