It seems that we need to make a compromise that satisfies both parties equally. I think we need to add consistency to the tactic, like needing to hit the vehicle in the critical point (engines) or the nose to effectively ram the ship. This makes it so that there is a mechanic to back it up, and a skilled pilot can maneuver easily to avoid the hit. Keep in mind this is my opinion and i'm willing to listen to your side of the debate. A mechanic like that could be interesting, personally I think ramming should do damage, just not catastrophic damage on slight rams and small taps. I think the reason most ads pilots feel that its a cheap tactic is because its like playing bumper cars, but the car is filled with touch sensitive c4. A slight tap can be fatal, even on a non essential part of the dropship. I have almost dodged a few rammers at the last second, but didn't because the tip of my engine guard fins clipped his engine, resulting in my python exploding. Consistency would also help, right now I have to assume that if he touches my ship I'll die, being able to know that he will have to come at my engines or that my front (strong point) could deflect an attempted ram would really legitamize it as a tactic rather than, iiiiiiiiii'm gonna touch ya! As right now the tactic starts and stops there.
I'm in NYC currently otherwise I'd link a one of sir snugglz videos where he does a very good maneuver tapping the top aft section of a std dropship causing it to crash, that takes skill and I think if ramming was more about forcing a dropship into the ground it would be more legit.
