in how many games can 1 hit remote explosives (c4) be chucked across the room..
look at dust and you can see why. ccp may have nerfed re's so they cant be detonated after clone downed..but they are still 10x better than anynade could ever be. ..re's should not be as chuckable as they are.

A Grenade gives you the ability to cook and launch the weapon at will, along with the luxury of homing capabilities (in terms of AV Grenades). Not to mention, that the distance a Grenade can be thrown is far greater than the distance that the Remote Explosive can be launched.
It should also be mentioned that using a Remote Explosives requires you to sneak up on a target, while the Grenade can be used from cover. Personally, I'd choose an M1 over an F/45 when fighting Infantry.

but then i have allot of roles and allot i can do on the field...i never really run into a match where at least 1 of my many roles is viable. so maybe thats why i dont feel the heavy qq |

The throwing distance on RE's in Dust is laughable, really.
Just take a look at Bad Company 2
Almost every CoD game and Battlefield game completely outdoes the C4 throwing mechanic, and what would you know, they're still more popular than Dust.
Play more shooters, stop confining yourself to a halfassed game. Please, do it for the nerd in all of us.

(i never had an opinion on this until i made a dragonfly bpo re suit) but yeah
you cant throw a remote anywhere near as far as a nade.... ever... you also can avoid them even when thrown directly at you... unlike a nade.
a nade will go off no matter what, but a remote needs to be triggered. kill the guy with the trigger and the remote is useless.
for all my successes I cant tell you how many more times I have failed to kill with a remote because I am killed before I can trigger it.... and I have also saved myself by killing a merc who just frissbeed a remote at me before he can detonate it.
I know not many people use remotes, and even less who use them effectively, it is a skill, and I challenge you to use remotes as your main weapon for 2 weeks backed up by either video or credible witnesses before you can say otherwise.
when you die by an explosive you should feel only one of 2 things:
honored to have been killed by such skill or ashamed of your own ineptitude....

She runs other suits, but she's an Amarr Sentinel who likes to run with an Assault Forge Gun. i do have a heavy i have all the amar suits but heavy is a new thing for me..re's were an issue long before i specced heavy. they outperform grenades in bombardment situations hell they outperform the massdriver ..if i see 4 heavies and 2 logis running together all i gotta do is chuck a 1500 isk re at em and i could kill them all with one button. when spawning ona roof with 3 different kinds of re's and proto nanos is a better idea than spawning witha massdriver bombardment role suit..they are performing outside they're intended area of use.
i mean i ran 21/0 earlier just chuckin re's from the sky while roof climbing thats no bueno
i always thought something was wrong with em when ide run logi and watch my team just get destroyed by em..and now i know somethings wrong because i run em on my scout and its ridiculous.
ccp is nerfing activation times..which i think is insanely stupid because i mean commin way the **** in the future, in this futuristic universe....it takes SECONDS to transmit a signal to set off a detonator really REALLY because thats pretty ******* hard to believe and hell a unrealistic...but i mean its cool so long as we can still throw them like grenades...
thats kinda like how proxies beep to let the enemy know they are there.....******* brilliant....a mine that beeps when someones about to set it off forewarning them...wtf...who the hell comes up this **** ahh an i havnt run assault forge in many months its all the kala baby.. |

I have 3 favorite RE methods
-Bait, Lure, and Trap -Bombadier (from elevation of course) -Smoke Detectors (where you stick it on the ceiling where they'll never see it)
Secondly wouldn't you expect it to out perform nades when they do more damage and cost more PG/CPU? Nades are nickles and dimes and they get the boom you paid for. Hands down nades are more maneuverable than RE's, but less boom. RE's used to be way worse remember? We need a little throw animation because it's finicky as hell when you're dealing with a moving tank.
I'm not super opposed to longer activation because then you can't just throw and 'nate, you gotta scheme and I'm all about the scheme. But I will oppose removing of the throw because you need the throw to get it in the creative places;
1. Under the railing 2. On the ceiling above the door 3. on the tank 4. On the ladder 5. on the top of the box that's near head level 6. on the underbelly of a dropship (no joke I have done this with a friendly DS) 7. So I can jump throw to get it over the side of a railing, down and onto the walkway below that I watch

i would like to note that before they could throw this c4 in this bad situation they would still have to prime it with detonators..im my exp seals dont carry around bricks of c4 pre primed for throwing...it was mentioned that throwing may be necessary for tact and i think activation timers is a completely bullshit and unrealistic power check. maybe if they had an animation where you applied detonators and then threw them...even locus grenades in dust still have a pin function...if re's must be thrown they should have to be primed first. so throwing them goes from an instantaneous action to a slightly longer one..
but none of this matters ccp is giving them activation timers and its gunna take seconds for a re detonate signal to travel 20m thousands of years in the future (makes sense....no....no it doesnt)

I'm confused
C4?
We are talking remote explosives of the future aren't we? I thought that they were auto-prime where as soon as they are placed they are armed and the activation timer was a safety feature made so you could not accidentally set it off too soon.
Ok see what I did there? Let's not do that anymore, even if it was meant for the other guy.
We can be civil and discuss this through.
Activation timer - I believe that it's a healthy feature because then it promotes use of foresight and prevents it from being very grenade-like. While the activation timer can be frustrating at times because that heavy snuck up on your ass and you're on the run. (That's another tactic I use in a pinch, if I get snuck up on I run around a corner and drop a mine as I'm running and continue to run and either use my minimap or eyesight to detonate properly)
Throw - I believe the throw should stay. Like I said previously, the throw allows you to put it in the creative places that prevent them from being super obvious thus useless. In honesty from time to time when the situation is dire I will play shuffleboard with REs to get them across the room without having to cross the hall of HMG, from time to time it's not my main thing. However if CCP raises the activation time, it will negate that strategy because it distances the RE from being grenade-like.
EDIT: Caught something I misread in your quote : Animation : CCP is too lazy to add animations you know that they'd never buy it. We've tried to get vehicle exit/entrance animations .....
