PvE is awesome and they really surprised me with how good the AI is.
PvP is ****, Dust is waaay better. I'm having trouble with it being basically Halo, they should've just called it Halo: Destiny. All bungie knows how to do is how to make Halo.
But I can't deny that its fun. Don't think I'll drop dust for it tho

I was interested in Destiny when it was first coming to light in the public but started losing a lot of interest when I found out through gameplay videos that it is very similar to Borderlands.
When it comes to Dust, I just got on yesterday for the first time in almost 3 weeks. I swear, you fools are the only reason I keep playing this game. Hanging with the homies :P

And is a swarm of them bothering? Don't worry about it! Not only does death not matter, the AI's are too stupid to follow you. So just camp entry poitns and slaughter the AI's too dumb to do anything about it.
Destiny is trash. Warframe is better and does exactly the same things in a cooler way. The only thing Destiny has is that city where population will be low thx to instance splitting, and cool loading screens.

And that's why Bungee will never get my money for Destiny. Halo MP is ****, always will be ****. After you get bored with PvE due to lack of character progression, you get to play Halo. Woo.. So fun..
The Amarr scout bonus is like the old Amarr sentinel bonus. No one needed 25% reduction to overheat damage on a heavy;_;

Granted most, if not all, of the animations were recycled covenant dodging and weaving but still it felt more immersive and "fun" fighting a horde of enemies with 2 of your friends without them behaving like headless chickens running into the barrel of my gun, like most other PvE games I've played.
AI surprised me, isn't the best around, but it sure did surprise me. I have fun playing the PvE :3 but Dust is where I'll get my competitive fix

They retreat for every little thing. Try just walking up to them, they'll scatter. The ones who stay are usually still trying to shoot you from where you used to be and haven't figured out you moved.
And they do charge, and it's another reason I think this game is dumb. WHY!? WHY WOULD YOU CHARGE SOMEONE WHO CAN ONE SHOT MELEE YOU?!

Hold on there, mr badly informed. Have you seen the Alpha? The only thing missing is more content to continue on. There's not going to be more game modes or anything beyond what is being shown.
This is the game, that's the skill tree, and that's the battle system. It's not going to be drastically changing going from the lol"ALPHA" *companies miss use this all the time, this game is more like a demo then an alpha, just look at how CCP uses the terms so loosely* to the lolbeta.
Alpha test is nothing more then seeing how servers handle up.

Sorry Mr. I am prejudiced against Destiny, but with all of the planets and moons in the solar system available I'm sure we'll get some variety. And the skill trees can be adjusted or enhanced easily. We have only seen a sampling of the game. They had placeholders for five more MP modes. And don't compare it to DUST, lol. |

Such a harsh review. I gave it a 7 before I even played it for all the xbox tears it produced for the alpha.
As far as the pvp goes, I thought it was fun. 6v6 is pretty small but it just means less bluedots to back pack.

PvP was the worst part. Just use a SG, get onto a hover bike - or use B's turrets. Any of those 3 methods will land you top killer spots. PvP has 0 balance, the only credit I'll give them is the PvP maps are well designed to give both teams room to have come backs. There's no chokes or points on the map to camp to just hold everything off.

Wait a second, you actually played the moon map??? I quit every time I saw that POS! I completely agree that the vehicles were ********, though to be fair, you're capped at level 8. Maybe at higher levels you'd be able to deal with those things easier?
As far as shotguns go, it's just like every other FPS in the sense that if you let someone within finger banging range you die. I mean they give you a jet pack, just boost out of their range and pow pow their facey faces on your way up.
Of course, your opinions are as valid as mine. Just means I don't get to look forward to getting killed by/killing you in Destiny

Just means I don't get to look forward to getting killed by/killing you in Destiny
Destiny will go F2P eventually, I don't see this game being as successful long term as the company hopes.
Far as jetpacks are concerned though, damn I love it. :D But it only takes one shot of a SG to kill you, so by the time you noticed you've been flanked it's too late. You also don't jump/fly away fast enough to avoid a second shot.

Bungie is really good at getting that "One-man genocide machine" feel and who needs aim when all the enemies have needlers lolbungie. I'm talking about; when enemies rush you while reloading, or having the shielded foes take the brunt of the shots and melee units move in to flank, how they will retreat when their defenses are down, how they will mix between offensive and evasive maneuvers when engaging one or multiple guardians. Granted most, if not all, of the animations were recycled covenant dodging and weaving but still it felt more immersive and "fun" fighting a horde of enemies with 2 of your friends without them behaving like headless chickens running into the barrel of my gun, like most other PvE games I've played. AI surprised me, isn't the best around, but it sure did surprise me. I have fun playing the PvE :3 but Dust is where I'll get my competitive fix They retreat for every little thing. Try just walking up to them, they'll scatter. The ones who stay are usually still trying to shoot you from where you used to be and haven't figured out you moved. And they do charge, and it's another reason I think this game is dumb. WHY!? WHY WOULD YOU CHARGE SOMEONE WHO CAN ONE SHOT MELEE YOU?! Just, uhg. Lol
When one lone guy does it its pretty stupid but it occasionally makes sense if they group rush you while your reloading and you cant one hit melee every enemy in the game, hell I accidentally got lost underground with those level ?? guys and while I was in cover trying to make an escape their melee guys came at me from 2 directions and when one got close enough he oneshotted me lmao.
Hopefully the AI will get a bit better in the future but there were some extremely promising signs, armoured enemies would spearhead attacks with shielded ones playing the duck and cover game with melee guys trying to flank you (admittedly this only worked on occasion and sometimes they would seem to just scatter because I gave them a harsh look) even fought one of the mage guys once and when I nearly killed him all his mates jumped in front of him to form a meatshield hopefully that was the AI making a decision and not just a random bug where enemies go for a group hug.
PVP was pretty limited and not particularly balanced but shotgun (or worse fusion rifle) wielding enemies riding fast hover bikes isn't too much worse or harder to deal with than fat guys in LAVs. The golden gun seems perfect for that managed to shoot a few off their bikes with that thing or oneshot them as they jump off.

Destiny comp mp is actually pretty damn good but i did state many times it wont be for dust folk who prefer zergy spam tactic fights it will be more arena based which would suit more competitive clans. Different game for different folks but thinking bigger playercount = better game is just lulzy. It comes down to preference and if the actual mechanics of the game are any good. DUST has been failing in mechanics since forvever so really just comes down to ppl preferring zergy spam tactics battles.

Voice acting in the game is just so cringe worthy though, I don't know if its Dinklage's fault, or the script directors, but holy **** Ghost has the most dry and emotionless lines I've ever heard. Even in the trailers.

game is basically Halo with Borderlands customization which isnt a bad thing imo
Halo had vehicles on some maps too obv those maps would be too big for 4v4s

what u got in alpha is what ur gonna get in the main game just alot more of it

Still learning the game tho but tank combat wise its the best tanks ive used in any game so far that has them

I've only played by myself in that game thusfar, haven't squadded up, but I've noticed the same thing -- great tank battles, but most people, as you point out, are afraid to push.
FWIW, I've been a tanker in most FPS games (because I can't hear in one ear and that, along with my relatively slow twitch muscles, puts me at a disadvantage in infantry), so this game attracted me once I heard about it....and WoT wasn't that much fun to me.
I did get the opportunity to watch a few videos of WT team play, and it looks quite intense. Kind of reminds me of an old game, BF1942, only without infantry a heck of a lot more complex.
I don't know if it will be a viable competitive game (which is what I really enjoy) or not, but it's been fun to play around with for the past week or two.
As for Destiny, I've preordered it and intend to play it, and I hope it continues to improve (particularly on the PvP side). PvE doesn't interest me too much, even in co-op mode....as I don't really enjoy (or have time for) the grind. |

For some reason, I was told that it was a sequel to Pathways Into Darkness, which I just finished this year. That game was amazing, and I will spend the rest of my like wondering about Muller. I saw a preview of Destiny, and didn't much care for it.
If this game was fun, I wouldn't be playing it.
