You stupid blue bastids I HATE YOU! Get your OWN kills!
Nothing makes me yell at the screen more than when a blue dingleberry steals a kill I earned.
I'm the one who ran point down the hallway. I'm the one who blasted the hmg down to his last hp. I'm the one who spotted the cloaked scout who was about to bust you because you have no situational awareness.
These clueless morons will literally step right in front of you just as you are about to finish red off, so you are shooting the back of their head while they get the 50. Can't tell you how many times its an hmg who does that .
Or even worse, I'll be in a heated 1v1, the kind we all play for, just me and red all alone and I'm just about to beat him when blue moron wanders by and ganks the kill.

if the blueberries are stealing your kills you aren't doing a good enough job.
in dust where our equipment costs isk it's much better to get kill stealed then to lose isk because he sat around watching while the red berry murdered your over confident ass.
this isn't COD KD/R means **** and I don't need you trying to teach the blueberries to be even more useless then they already are, if one of them are capable of taking one of my kills by all fcking means go ahead and steal it.
the usual blue berry can't figure out which direction to point their gun, or that shooting the enemy mcc with a missile turret doesn't do anything, hell i'm lucking if they don't try to procreate with my tank, 90% of blue berries hump friendly tanks non-stop.... |

yep you could join, we really don't care about KDR at all as far as I know.
if your good and they can trust you, you get into pc, otherwise you don't, but as far as I know they don't tend to keep anyone out unless they are ass hats. |

It's already been said, but it's important enough to be said again: it's a tactical team game; the object is for your team to win, not for you to get a good KD/R. On a more general level, there are much more important things to get angry about in life than someone allegedly stealing your virtual kill in a computer game. |

With that said, using metrics to give yourself goals so you have a drive and indicator to improve your game is a good idea. Just don't lose sight of the purpose of the game.

No, he should get Top Damage, Final Blow should be the one who got the final blow and all involved parties should get the kill (so long as the victim goes back to respawn).

I wouldn't really be upset. For all you know, the blueberry could have thought that you were in trouble and figured that he would help save your life.
Not to mention that K/D doesn't really matter as much as it is winning. I'd easily sacrifice a clone if it meant clearing out targets of interest for my team.
Amarrians would prefer you be faithful... I'd rather you be logical.

I'm sure the blueberries check the enemy ehp and yours ( and their weapon and your weapon to make sure your going to win the gunfight ) before deciding to engage... When I'm facing down a heavy or a scout with my logi at close range and the guy next to me waits for me to die before engaging I think to myself, if your not reloading your a moron.
I've had games with 4-5 kills and 30-40 assists, if I see a red or hear gunfire I shoot the guy shooting me or my teammate I don't wait and watch. Next time be grateful the blues weren't cowering in the red zone in a starter sniper fit thinking there doing some good.

I can't help it, I'm cursed! I really don't mean to but I end up stealing kills. My friend was in a tank, fighting tanks, so I thought "might as well try to get a kill assist." Apparently I killed a tank... with my scrambler rifle.

I complain about kill stealing on coms but i actually mean it as a back-handed compliment. If someone has taken a kill off me it means theyve done a better job than i have. Use that to motivate yourself to improve, and learn to finish what you start. QQ wont help your gungame. |

In my opinion, the only time it's unfriendly to steal kills is when somebody is trying to derp around as is being successful at it.
Don't steal kills from nova-knifers, don't steal kills from Plasma Cannoneers. I recently accidentally robbed a knifer of a sure kill. I felt very sorry. |

But its still a team game, so no one on your team can steal a kill. There are also other useful metrics (such as total team wins) that are meaningful. KDR by itself is not a good indication of success, particular since it is very oddly calculated by the last HP lost.
It's also a tactical strategy game, so there are other ways of determining success that don't involved metrics because they can't be measured. Did you take out the two tanks that were slaughtering your team in ambush, or did you get behind enemy lines and put drop links in strategic locations that allowed your team to flank the enemy, but in either case you still had negative KDR and your team lost, don't worry, you still did good.
