It should NOT be powerful because of broken items and modules that make a tank semi invincible. Then IF the tank messes up, he just throws on his speed boost and away he goes at lightning speed.

Tanks REALLY only need minor tweaks to be balanced. Dont expect them to become squishy over night as that is NOT what balance is. They need to be feared, they need to be hard to kill by yourself BUT totally possible to do with tactics and good placement.

Right now you can have 2-3 of you with GOOD AV and the best tank fits just laugh the damage off as they zoom around corners.

Is there anybody at CCP that uses vehicles often? I'm not really sure how they're 'severely gimping' tanks, myself. You say you always run in a squad; run some small turrets. A 20GJ Neutron blaster is pretty easy to fit, iirc, even for me without even proto blasters let alone optimisation, and they'll have like 1200DPS for a total of like 7K damage per overheat. Though in his madness he does have a point, some av do want it easy mode. I always get nervous when they tweak av because dropships are so frail. There are quite a few people who use swarms that don't think and just lock and fire and then come here and complain, wondering why they aren't killing an ads. I hope av gets balanced but I also hope CCP doesn't over do it and put it back to 1.6 levels. Av players, 1.7-.8 was how vehicle pilots felt about av up until the changes. One proto swarm or forge sitting on a tower locking down the entire map and as soon as you try and do something your hit or shot down. Swarms brought dropships down so easy the team would just switch to swarms and spam it to death in a second then switch back. Let's not go there again.
