I understand CCP put them there and you have every right to run them but that doesn't make it right. They ruin Ambush for 95% of everyone else.
I know this is not a news flash to anyone.
DUST 514 is a FPS. Death match is the bread and butter of that genre.
Yet ours is ruined by tanks.
How hard would it have been to have an Ambush mode with infantry only? Seriously think about that. How hard?
Why not have had a tank only mode so that tankers could go nuts?
I'll tell you why. Because they are not interested in fighting other tanks. Those that choose to run tanks in Ambush play the game for psychological reasons different than others. My opinion.
In every game I have ever played, if it became too easy I lost interest and quit playing.
Yet I see the same players spamming tanks in Ambush every night. Aren't you bored yet? Again, some deeper issue is at work for them in their brain pan.
I know developement is dead for our game. But I imagine what might have been.
Ambush could have been soo much fun.
And it's not.

I've always felt like CCP missed out on letting their gameplay shine by simply not having the OPTION to play Ambush with infantry only, no vehicles. Just pure gunplay. It would have been so much fun to gunfight without tanks ruining the experience.
CCP could still have also had the Ambush mode as it is with tanks, with both mode available to choose from.
But I truly believe if players were given a choice, you would find everyone playing infantry only mode with only a handful in the open vehicle/infantry option. Maybe no one at all.
I was being sarcastic in the original post about a tank/vehicle only mode because everyone knows nobody would participate. Tanks don't want to face each other. For them it is about the ability to farm infantry and rack up easy kills, not the tank itself.
For example, hypothetically if it were jetpacks that produced that effect (just for the sake of my point) instead of tanks, Ambush tankers would abuse that. It's not that they enjoy the tank per se, rather they enjoy killing with impunity and feeling superior.
The tank is not the thing. The tank is the thing that gets them to the thing. Understand? Tanks get them to that feeling.
Give us an Infantry only Ambush option. Leave the current version in if you want. But given the choice, I believe the current version would wither and die from lack of participants.

Playing Ambush today after Bravo has been a much more enjoyable experience. It is unfortunate I have to cancel out of OMS instead of simply selecting the mode directly but I'll take it.
Now you have a choice. Huzzah.
