It's a pub match.. turn off your mic!
No-one wants to hear the game sounds 2/3 times over from your perspective too..
No-one wants to hear your f***ing family jibber-jabbering in whatever random language you speak
No-one wants to hear you complain every time your militia ****-fit suit is vaporised
No-one wants to hear your perverse breathing as you get more and more excited about hacking a blaster turret
No-one wants to hear the washing machine/tumble dryer/microwave in the kitchen next to you because you live in a hovel
No-one wants to hear your mum calling you up the stairs because your 10 year old ass is not coming down for your dinner
No-one wants to hear your son/daughter/friend/companion/lover/partner/significant other/pet or alien hostage bleating incessantly because you don't have the decency to cull them at birth
.... sorry too far but for the love of beans - turn off your mic unless you are in a squad with other people.
tl;dr - CCP, can we have UVT as off by default so we don't have to endure this crap all the time?
UVT should be opt in - not out.
Worse is when you get thrown straight into a match (I know right - imagine that), and you don't have the precious seconds needed to shut up the cacophonous racket before the loading screen kicks in, and have to endure it for a good 30/40 seconds..
I remember when you had to physically buy a UVT module....

Berating players for actively wanting to use the UVT tools provided and organise their squads or have social interaction because you cannot take the 2 seconds to select another channel.......... just when I thought this community couldn't get.......ah never mind.
Do you not agree it should be opt out - not opt in then?
I think this would benefit everyone, those wanting interaction with unskilled and un-organised noobs and those who wish to use pub matches as silent lone wolf style game types.

Echo 1991 wrote:Why are you in team chat in the first place if you arent this lone wolf person you described? Squad with people or make a squad and you never join team chat.
When you join a match and you aren't part of a squad, you automatically get lumped into the 'team chat' UVT channel, where the aforementioned pre-pubescent/multilingual squawkings begin.

I don't believe its a mechanic worth adjusting when it barely affects the experience. Most players use their corporation or squad channels anyway, the odd 1 or two people who might use team channels can be simply muted or channel switched before the game even begins...... Please don't tell me you are that lazy that you cannot even bother to drop channel for another one..... In FW PIE Inc will use Team Channel in the hopes our team will take the initiative to work with us, or understand what we are doing and work around us.
No, my point is that it's *slightly* annoying in this situation -
Start game Go to merc quarters press start join battle *wait for matchmaking* *match found* *lumped into team chat* - Again, aforementioned squawking and undeterminable babble - Loading screen *babble continues while game loads* match starts press select turn off team chat Babble stops
My point was to make it off by default so the following is applicable
Start game Go to merc quarters Press start Join battle *wait for matchmaking* *match found* Play match *end*
That's all, yes my first point is emotive as a consequence of experiencing it over and over in a short space of time, but this is my point, UVT is off by default, unless you turn it on to speak with randoms.
I think my point is moot as you may as well just turn off UVT altogether until you WANT to squad up.
Thank you for your impartial responses..

Just deactivate team chat. Two button pushes is not asking too much and no, being able to communicate should always be the default.
I agree, but my point is you just don't have time sometimes.
Thank you for your input.

I can handle 8-year-olds who just learned to swear I can handle foreign languages I can handle hearing multiple people from the same mic But when I heard an 8 year old who spoke spanish but seemed to have just learned how to swear in english with his other ******* 8 year old friend, I ate my mic.
That's why I stopped playing online stuff for a while until I bought a new one.
This guy gets it.

Why is that so hard to do for you?
It's not hard to do, my point is I shouldn't have to 'do' it.
I think the general consensus is to just either turn it off entirely before playing a match or to create a private channel, whilst being a relatively short process, I don't feel it necessary to have to do this but I guess the flip side of it would be someone who DOES want to interact with randoms.
Either way, point taken, thank you and goodnight.
