Maybe CCP doesn't want to run out of cool names so they haven't given any to dropsuits. They have given vehicles names, and I think it's time we all readdressed the topic of suit names for Legion. I'd like to start by suggesting some names. I'm not really attached to any I just wanted to throw some out.
Amarr get ancient Roman military unit names. Amarr Scout: Velite or Venator Amarr Assault: Peditatus or Hastati Amarr Logi: Principe or Medicus Amarr Sentinel: Praetorian
Gallente troops get French military words. Gallente Scout: Courreur or Canardeur Gallente Assault: Lignard or Fusillier Gallente Logi: Sapeur Gallente Sentinel: Cuirassier
Caldari get German and Japanese names. Caldari Scouts: Jeager Caldari Assault: Yari Caldari Logi: Naginata or Pionier Caldari Sentinel: Panzer or Grenadier
I still have no idea what Minmatar names should be.

That's not how things get named in New Eden. There's already a standard for it.

lol. well, Amarr names are usually based off of religious sounding names, Caldari is birds, Gallente is Greek gods, and Winmatar is weapons (like swords and ****), and crazy ass weather like hurricanes.

I'm pretty sure Rupture is neither a weapon nor a force of nature. You could say that it could be another term for an earthquake, but that would just be arguing semantics.
Also the Stabber isn't really a 'sword' neither is a Thrasher. Matari ships are really named after Violent acts either man made or by nature. Also predatory animal names (Wolf, Hound, Cheetah).
Source: I fly Matari ships and Matari Accesories...
Edit: Also some names from Norse Myths: Ragnarok, Naglfar, Fenrir, Nidhoggur (only guessing as it is close to N+ˇ+¦h+¦ggr)

Why so serious? I haven't slept good in days. Oh well if I forget a couple things. Deal with it.

I opted for a different naming scheme only because they are a totally different military unit and opening up a separate naming scheme for dropsuits than ships opens them up for more potential names. I was hoping instead of telling me how suit names should be picked people would suggest some of their own.

Again those are vehicles, not dropsuits.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've never seen a 'Viper' bird and 'Sica' was an ancient dagger of sorts. Not really birds if those are Caldari names.
Also a grimsnes is the name of a volcano in iceland, a saga is a legendary story, an incubus is a demon, a python is another snake, Myron was a sculpture in ancient greece, soma is a Vedic ritualistic drink...
I really only see a couple vechiles that are named in the same fashion as EVE (going by Caldari = Birds, Gallente = Greek Myths).

The names themselves or the idea of giving suits unique names?

minmatar have norse gods in there as well if my memory serves me right
Also what you name your ships may not be how you name your peeps, for example the gallente's political parties are based on birds, and their main clandestine organization (the black eagles) are based off birds.
Its not quite as dry cut.
