Though the point of LP items is to either:

Provide high end gear at lower CPU/PG costs
Provide cheaper gear (in terms of ISK)
Provide gear at lower SP requirements; similar to AUR gear
Provide gear better than PRO equivalents (in the case of equipment)

There are lots of reasons to have LP items beyond a fancy name and skin attached to it, although the LP payouts for FW need to be increased to make obtaining the LP for these items actually worth the effort.

1: Only helps PROTO stompers

2: There's no ISK payout in FW, so moot, and also, ISK can't be used as a point when it comes to gear tbh.

3: Pointless if you have the skills for them, so not really a point

I don't see any problems with that? It's like Pirate gear..... its just better than most empire stuff, and because of how tricky it is to get and how strong they are the gear is balanced by ISK cost. I mean I was seeing 300+ Million ISK Worms and Cruors in Huola...... sure they were good and would wreck players 1v1 or 2v1 but against our fleets those pirate frigs meant nothing and we got some juicy kill mails. At some point players in this game and going to have to HTFU realise Tiericide will not work and just deal with it. Imbalances exist its a natural part of New Eden when T1 is brought against T2 it tends to lose unless it is brought in large numbers.
