Because most of the "elite" players and "elite" corporations who protostomped has left after hearing the Legion announcement at FanFest.
Now that's left in pubs are clueless blueberries who couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag. I've been in a squad of 6 and we're the only guys with crazy WPs and doing anything on the field.
So I don't know what you're experiencing. I see pubs are even in a much more worse state and PC (where prototypes are abundant) is the only form of real competition.
There is no such thing as protostomping in pubs or poor matchmaking. Just poor players. Not trying to be mean or ignorant, its just what I see.
For the record just last match was 4 from STB and 6 from NFSounds. Yeah no proto stomp on public? Not all the elite players have left for Legion they only show up on weekends. Weekdays your relatively less at risk. Yea one match that you recently played. In your last 10 games, how many times were you protostomped? And I have already answered that before you spoke... Michael Arck wrote: The frequency is not as great as it used to be.
Organized teamplay works well against STB and NFSounds. Your team had poor players. I agree with you but he is also correct. Pubstomping is a problem, always has been, let me give you a perfect example.... I was playing some pub matches not long ago and DNS still had the doughnut, ran into Summer Salt in game from Molon Labe, he says to me hey man want to PC with us against the doughnut, we are isk grinding ready to fight blah blah blah, so he gives me a channel to meet up with etc etc, now in that match they were qsynced in a pub, all wearing cheap fits, they won the match but were damn near cloned.
2 months pass, they are well established in PC again due to Legion, dns. collapse etc etc etc. Now I see them in a pub and they are not qsynced but because of the finacial freedom of their districts its straight up proto every suit, every tanks, every ADS. I msg one of them after a match and im like damn dude you got to do it like that? The response I got was **** you I got momey now its proto all day everyday, I dare say this is the mentality of many many players.
I think pub stomping, and poor matchmaking is Dusts single biggest problem for maintaining new players, which translates into poor finacial performance for the game over all. And while it is 100% CCPs fault what I have always tried to say to people and use my influence to convey is that as a community we could choose to not take advantage. We could choose to break up our 6 man proto squad, run some basic gear, adopt noobs into the squads, train them into corps. We could choose to make at least 1 game mode sacred from protostomps.
For the record this is an alt, I am a 52 mil sp player, ranked in the top 15 all time for kills, amd Im not even in a corp. Ive always been a lone wolf and proud of that, and while I run PCs with the best and pubs with the worst, I know pubs make the game not PC, I would love to see some major corp as a rule demand that their players have more pride than to protostomp noobs over and over......

Michael Arck wrote:This is Michael Arck. I am well known for expressing my opinion whether you like it or not. No, I'm not the guy who says what everybody else says just to be in some cool kids club or to be accepted. What I say, I believe in and I live by. If you think it's bullshit because it doesn't agree with your opinion, oh well.
The truth of the matter is, public matches aren't competitive. Reason why folks leave pub matches to go to PC and get crushed, becoming disheartened about playing in PC. Yes, you can have some good games in pubs but to measure your skill according to pubs really doesn't amount to much.
The truth of the matter is protostomping does not, I repeat, does not happen as often as implied by those whom feel otherwise. There are people who will just side with anything negative just to continue spouting negative energy.
Protostomping was mainly committed by players who often PC. With a bankroll to support and after months of working hard to achieve level 5 in a dropsuit, these players would use the same PC tactics in pubs. Hence the protostomping. The Instead of working and coordinating with teammates, disorganized blues got protostomped into oblivion.
But back to the point...
Protostomping hardly ever happens in pubs like it did before. I've been playing Dust 514 for about two years now. I play a string a matches in one sitting.
I'm curious to know if you know what a prototype is because you just might be getting stomped by ADV suits and calling it protostomping.
You can ask seasoned players (and I would be surprised if they say otherwise) if protostomping happens often in pubs and the reply would be no, compared to how prevalent it was before. You couldn't breathe back then without protos on your neck with a tanks hammering the nail in the coffin.
It's so easy nowadays to destroy in pubs because honestly, plenty of players lack skill. That's not being mean or offensive, that's just the truth. Why I look at guys weird when they want to boast about how they got 40 kills and only 3 deaths. You're playing in pubs where clueless blueberries run rampant.
Since my question wasn't answered, let me ask this again.
In the last 10 games anybody has played, how many times were you "protostomped"?
While I respect your opinion I must disagree, protostomping has actually gotten worse lately simply due to the amount of corps in pc again. Its all about isk, and with DNS gone all the corps who were locked out of PC now are in it generating clones selling them and running proto in pubs. Hell worse then that they are qsyncing, and running it. As for seasoned players disagreeing, im sure they wouldnt as they are usually the people doing the protostomping in pubs.

Except that Vic sucks, I once killed him 3 times in a row on a roof top he was camping in full proto with a viziam on his own ****** links he kept spawning back in on, Im pretty sure I was in adv but maybe even my dren, either way hes a good example of someone who gets skills simply because he has better gear. He could never solo a good proto, a basic heavy, or me in anything im wearing. |

Yes its hard, you get raped, still though, a decent player like myself have about a 0.8 KDR playing mostly alone (amd I do play support with less HP and weaker guns, and without the kill-giving abilities...) for a week. In Dust though, its about actaually a 1.6 KDR during the same circumstanses. There are so many cheap ways to success in Dust that Vet stomping is actually, against popular beliefs, not as bad as in many other games. You should've tried and go against a squad of my clan in MAG at low level and the experience would be much thougher than in Dust, most likely you wouldn't even get across the redline....
Say whatever you want, nothing any of you say will negate the fact that the average playerbase in Dust is the least skilled playerbase I've ever come across in any game ever. Is it the PC master race giving it a go? Is it the EVEtards? Is it the wast numbers of noob gamers being drawned because its a free to play? I honestly don't know.
KingBabar's hot tip for getting good at Dust:
- Go in there and fight, stop camping on roofs, pipes, in tanks, fatsuits or at the redline. You don't get any better by playing like a bltch!
DUDE!! You wrote a Dear John letter about you leaving and you're still here! What in the blue blazers?! Currently I don't have a "gaming community to be a part of", besides our Clan forums and my close friends. Anyways, don't mind why I'm here (not much at all these days) and rather focus on what I have to say.... seriously like isnt it sad that the only reason were still in dust is because there isnt anything better atm..what has the gaming industry come to. sighs and king babar is right dust has a much lower than average fps playerbase..wanna know how i know? because im not an fps player before dust..i played a few but so wasnt my forte...and i have been stomping in dust for 2 years...so either 1 the game requires no skill or 2 the average player requires no skill to decimate side note sometimes i feel like im facing stoned 4 years olds when i play this game seriously how many ways are there to insta pop a suit of any lvl? re's forge to the face...? rail turret round 1 shot...? sniping is easier in dust than any game i have ever played (how do i know because ima terrible sniper and i can snipe in dust) omg qq 3x maddies..(morte looks at the rail tank that can1- 2 shot it) sobs sobs qq tank in general( glances at the jihad jeep) sobs sobs 6 nyain san..(looks as dragonfly bpo fit with stnd re's that one shot proto suits cost 1500isk) sobs sobs python...(looks at cheapo armor dropship with death touch vs shield durpships) like seriously ccp gives out these things i like to call nub crutches to make this game with built in aimbot...and simplistic physics even easier and still waaa qq sobs...wtf Ive never seen you do well on your feet, Babar is a diffrent story, you though you are bad, Aldin is the only one among you any good, and his skills are offset by that nasally, whiny, nerdy ass voice.

I can agree with most of this but it still doesnt negate the corps who regularly full on pub stomp. My question is why? Its so boring. Challenge yourself man, take off the scout gk0 with a six kin, try a std gal assault with an ion pistol, and a gek. |
