There is an issue currently where dropship gunners will randomly explode when firing their missiles and commit suicide. Needless to say, this is very frustrating.
My gunners and I have noticed this happens when the dropship is drifting towards the side of the gunner, eg drifting to the left when left gunner is firing to the left. Also when preforming strafing runs with both gunners firing forward. It appears their missiles hit the front side of the dropship killing them.
This is happening in pubs.
I think most dropship pilots would appreciate if this was looked into for hotfix beta. Cheers |

Definitely. As one of Numnutz's gunners it's incredibly annoying when we attempt a strafing run to clear some infantry/dive bomb an HAV only for our firepower to be cut in half. One of my top 3 gunners who currently holds the record for kills in my dropship*
That fire power is crucial, especially when going after a rail tank in the red line. We usually only make it out with about a second left. To loose a gunner going in means a failure of the run. |

All small turrets fire from a magical location that is AGAINST the force of inertia, but equivalent to the speed of the vehicle traveling. Example: If the dropship is falling when fired, the bullet will originate Above the gun. If rising: Below the gun. Projectiles will originate from a location that the GUN WAS NEVER AT. Meaning the server overcompensates the direction of where the origin shot was, so the projectile never originates inside the gun if the vehicle is moving. Yes the issue of gunners hitting the dropshop instead of where they were aiming has been around sinch chrom, but its only recently (1.8) that gunners have started taking damage for it, and exploding.
My gunners and call it 'ate the missle' cause skyshaks are always hungry

No its another cause of the issue I'm hoping will be hotfixed, my gunners exploding from their own missiles |
