Combat rifle scrub here, but... I use Nova Knives and a Minmatar scout, so... do they balance each other out?

Yup The thing is that we waited long for that. I maxed it the moment I got on regardless of how good it is because winmatar. I love the fact that against all odds, you bossed it mate. I hear ya there, though I'll admit, I didn't max it out just because it was Winmatar, I simply loved the weapon. It was a burst fire gun that CCP actually got right in the way it felt, unlike most of the other guns, and of course it helped that it was freakin' awesome. The Minmatar tech has become my favorite in the game and is about all I use anymore, outside of the Nova Knives and the occasional foray back into my trusty Scrambler pistol.
As for the cloak, it kinda sits in the same boat as the combat rifles for me. I got it because it was fun as hell to use, and being able to toy with people while invisible added a fair bit of replay value for me when the game was getting relatively stale. It made Nova Knifing a bit easier and allowed me to use my squishy scout suit reliably on more than just the Ashland map and Gallente research facility. With the multiple buffs to scout suits however, I do hold to the notion that it was a bit too good, and the mechanics weren't as fleshed out as I would have liked to see, but it was one of those things I'd been hoping for ever since Chrome, when I first started running scout suits because I thought the brown color would help me blend in with the environment. I think CCP hit them a bit too hard, but I still use them occasionally every now and then, and it's nice to be able to actually see people on my mini-map again without two or three precision enhancers.
