It's not what you want to be in Legion..... but you could really learn a lot from it's strengths and weaknesses. Strengths: Graphics and the ability to hold up decently well on a large scale VR training Proper tutorials Informative UI and keymapping Limited tiering Weaknesses: Giant hamster wheel of conquest and loss NO political intrigue Basic alliances Slow progression to try new things No negative consequences for characters from actions (friendly fire)
I've been playing a lot of Planetside 2 on the PC recently to get my PC FPS skills back up and with all of it's advantages over the past year DUST still had the greater draw. The battle themselves in PS2 are beautiful and large, but they are no more unique game to game than DUST battles are. I really feel as though if the EVE philosophy whould be the heart and soul of Legion and the FPS mechanics and graphics of PS2 were merged you could make an entertaining game that also feels meaningful.

Good points. I think you nailed the explanation for how DUST is, and Legion should be, different from Planetside 2. It would have more impact though if you put a blank line to separate the Strengths and the Weaknesses sections.
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

Absolutely agreed. I've been watching PS2 gameplay, and it has a major problem apparently with New Player Retention. Without know how SP will be in Legion, I can't say.

I would cite the general game flow as a weakness. It's incredibly important to games, and PS2's frequent spawn room camping is an excellent example of how not to do it. I don't think DUST does it very well either.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

Before I finished reading your comment I was already rushing to complain about the rampant spawn camping going on in this game. But since you mentioned it, ill instead say that I've seen some very ingenious methods of countering it, so I hope someone looks back at them and works to fix those problems.

Spawn camping in PS2 is referring to the Sunderer. First off you have to park one in a good spot that is insulated a bit from air attacks. Usually that depends on the continents (3) you select from. In the heat of battle with a fleet of comrades you can pick spots more aggressively. But you have to defend your vehicle at all times and I can assure you as I hunt Sunderers I am always up against a fleet of people who know how to defend their position which is the point of the game in an open world...sorta. Spawn camping is easily dealt with based on their design.
For Eve Legion (I like this name a ton ) we have no clue what we are going to get here, just some really cool concepts and small taste at fanfest. But I feel this game is going to seriously kick ass for those of us who really love the New Eden Uni. I think transport vehicles would be freaking cool if it fits the design of the maps we will play on. And with PC's they can go huge!!! Sorta Well back to Kronos readings.

Spawn camping in PS2 does NOT only occur in Sunderer spawning. The little spawn buildings with the shields and everything are spawn camped too. As soon as you step outside, you are shot by 7 different people. Hell, the warp-gates can be camped!

I added 2 more pros. If no one in Shanghai has played a bit of PS2 they really should. I don't want a New Eden clone of PS2, but there are a lot of little things that can go along way in making the whole experience more intuitive and fun.
