As a statesman I seem to spend as much time defending the Matari as I do my own people.
That feels both right and wrong for reasons I can't seem to explain.
Amarrians would prefer you be faithful. I'd rather you be logical.

We as Statesmen must uphold honor, the States dignity, and be an example for our people. I have done horrible things to the Gallente during heths reign, and will live with them till I one day die. Until then I will fight solely for the State and my Amarrian allies.
Going against the State?! You don't honestly believe that. They do nothing for us. Our entire "alliance" is only based on us having a common enemy, which even then isn't much. Given the strong ties with the Matari and Ishukone Corporation, me taking action against the imperialistic bible huggers is actually a service to our people.
When the Gallente Federation falls, there will only be us the Amarr, and the Matari. Should the Matari be conquered by the Imperialists, we'll be the only ones left. Do you honestly think that they won't try to conquer us as well?
Think about it.

Who else but the Caldari? I'd rather auction it off than create a conflict between the megacorporations. Would you risk the lives of your brothers and sisters or auction off your land?
