I decided to lurk back to General Discussion and post a test.
I'll give a list of players in this game, and you can respond if you've ever heard of them, faced them, or seen them in battle...
This community is very small, and even smaller and more tight knit at the Planetary Conquest level. What happens in Planetary Conquest trickles into pubs in the form of very advanced tactics, prototype gear, and complete stomping... So without further delay, have you heard, seen, or played any of these players well known for their immense skill level?
Kalante Schiffer
Espeon Bons
1st Lieutenant Tiberius
King Kobrah
DJINN Soul
ReGyNuM
Frost Kitty
Sir Snugglz
Alldin Kan
These are just a random sampling. Some almost invisible in the community, others more wide-spread.

I've fought with and against (not in squad) Tiberius Regynum Frost kitty Aldin kan
I know sir snugglz, pilot community is pretty close and he started condor squad first ads pilot channel, good times. I still fly with him occasionally, damn good dropship pilot. Flew with him in his second condor squadron video, if you haven't seen them check it out.

Heard of them all. Seen them all. Played against all of them in pubs. played against all of them in pc except sir snugglez or frost kitty? ( i think i dont remember what corp they are in or maybe their scores were too low to be worth remembering.)
And I played in the same squad with most of them.

Just saying, these lists only pander egos and are never accurate

I fought Cyrius Li Moody and Ghazabaran in the Min/Amarr warzone many times, some of the best competition and begrudgingly respected Minmatar loyalists out there....not that you heard that from me those filthy Minmatar rebels.
Fought Tiberius many times until we came to the conclusion I shouldn't play his game on foot and he shouldn't give in to mine in HAV combat. Lea Silencio as well.
Seen Regnum here and there in the warzone, the only Amarr loyalist who never squadded with Amarr loyalists....
Evicer is a regular squad mate like Aero and Aisha.
Can't really think of any more "well known" mercs right now I squad with.

The top 5 names on the list all have significantly contributed to shaping and defining PC in Dust, and the power blocks in it.
Some people are the most deadly Pub Star's you'll ever meet in DUST 514. Then you put them in a PC environment where everyone is on similar levels and their performance or contribution leaves much to be desired from reputation.
Some people perform TERRIBLE in pub's, but you put that pressure and team focus gameplay around them and they outshine even the most mentioned names on peoples lists... PC Stars if you will.
The Rough thing in DUST 514 is there is no competitive training mode anymore, forcing aspiring corporations to invest hundreds of millions of ISK and months of humiliation to acquire that experience.
There is no where in the DUST 514 Public match scene that will net your corporation or group of mercenaries the experience needed to compete in a game mode that has 16 focused mercenaries working together for a singular goal. And trying to jump into a pool of Mercenaries that have nearly a year of knowledge and first hand experience in this Type of DUST 514 gameplay is nearly impossible... It is the Steepest Learning Curve That Exists In Dust 514... Way Bigger then NPE, And Why Most Players Look To PC With Hate. |

Yeah, it has nothing to do with the LAG, poor framerate and utter lack of hit detection.... |
