This is a declaration of intent to submit to the candidate acceptance process for a position on CPM 1. Until official acceptance as per the criteria detailed in this thread, this post will remain solely a declaration of this intent.

The CPM is an elected body of seven members, but it only becomes a body once elected. Until the community at large select those to represent them; we are members of that same community just like everyone else, which we remain even after we are elected. We are simply individual players with an interest to assist the game; Nothing more. Being a candidate is not a position, it is a label. A simple sign of intent, and one that we give ourselves; not one that has been earned. Until the community decide that we are something, we are nothing. We must never seek to separate ourselves from them, elevate ourselves above them or decide things in their absence.
Anything I need to say about the elections, the process after or to anyone involved I would like to say out here, in the public sphere. I cannot envision anything I would need to say to a candidate that cannot be said in the communityGÇÖs space for all to see. Here the players can judge me on everything I say and how I treat my fellow candidates. Nothing hidden, no closed doors, no hidden agendas.
I would be glad to take part in pre-election events or to talk openly with the other candidates, but I must politely decline the invitation to join you in a private channel.

I do not base my responce to questions or issues I feel are of value based on the ease of which it can be thrown into the void. A "simple no", would have not explained my reasons. I think my stance is clear and transparent to not just the candidates, but the electorate too.
The candidates can speak to me just as easily here as in a private channel, so I simply do not see a purpose it serves that this forum does not. Do you mean to imply that unless I join the channel I cannot get to know the candidates on friendly terms?

Any player in the game can talk to me here. If the players or the candidates cannot get to know me, or my views through open channels : twitter, YouTube, the game or the forum, then I will have failed. If anyone in your channel feels they are best known via your channel, or that the forums do not convey them to each other as well as your channel does; then they have failed.

Could you please clarity that for me. Are you saying that because I decided to decline the voluntary offer to join a single chat channel that this is a clear indicator that I cannot strongly support the players as part of the CPM? Or was it mandatory to join?

Is asking the purpose of something showing suspicion? We can not be in all places at all times. If I need to reach players I need to be where they are and doing what they want. I just want to know if this channel meets my expectation.

Your vote is yours. But I am still at a loss here. Maybe you can help me understand. Because I didn't want to join one channel, but am plenty available in the official election forum you can conclude I cannot work with others? ANd because other posters started a quite colourful debate, I am somehow responsible for their actions?

It is you saying those things. Not me. You pulled those meanings from my post. I don't want closed doors? do you? I want my views to be available to all. Don't you? @various people - You're inferring things. That goes for both Judge and the other CPM candidates, to various extents.
Judge isn't accusing everyone of being corrupt politicians. Pyrex did, but that's in the other thread and that wasn't actually Judge.

I was going to just say no thank you, but I realised that would be taken as a plain snub. you asked me to dinner, I told you I was washing my hair that night. I wanted to say more, I though you deserved more. I think transparency doomed CPM 0. I really don't think this can be overstated. it greatly concerns me that CPM 1 avoids all accusations of distance from its community, and of forming opinions within itself.
So I thought the best thing to do is to declare that during the election process I will make every effort to ensure that not a single accusation of distance can be levied at the new CPM. from its inception to it's death it must be untainted.
I wanted it to be clear that being a candidate is not anything special. until elected I hold no office, and as such have no privilege. as a candidate I do not need to be part of a group, no matter their strengths, no matter their upstanding integrity. I am already part of a group, the community at large. if they cannot be in your group, how can I?
It is this reason I talked about transparency. I levy no accusation but you have already stated that the Channel is building relationships, but these exist out of the view of the electorate. I want to be able to stand here on voting day, win or lose , and say that I said nothing that cannot be read by a voter.
This is my reasoning.

pass me your schedule, and I am sure we can sort something out. Friction should not be seen as a bad thing. People disagree, act like dicks, make mistakes. What matters is the discorse, and the resolution. CPM 1 are going to fight. They need to be able to fight and then resolve their differences.

I posted this thread as an intent to run as I stated in the OP. I did this so that I could concentrate actual details about my views elsewhere. This is because announcement threads, as you see happened here, tend to get filled with either well wishes, abuse or bogged down with too many irrelevant questions.
I prefer another method of focusing my views. So I will offer more detail and responce in another thread, and the candidate platform soon. The election process needs some clarity and final conformation from CCP first.

There is no harm in doing Q+A beforehand and pretty much every candidate apart from some new ones started their threads before they had a confirmed application
Until we are accepted I don't feel we should have threads in the official forum. It should be a concise forum. All candidates so the voters know where to find information and what they are seeing when they look there.
