I'm on the miller EU server TR.
I had a sht time even when in squad and platoon.
I then bought vanity items and some decent guns (a fking mini gun, new AR and a sniper).
Now I'm a boss.
It is a sht load of fun if you pay for good stuff right away and getting into a platoon is imperative at first.
Its taken 5 hours for me to get the hang of knowing precisely what I'm doing, what's going on and understanding the method to my platoon leaders waypoints.
It has a steep learning curve more so with navigation and the way capturing territory works than the actual gameplay. Its absolutely awful without buying weapons though. Be careful as some are completely pointless, most actually.
The timescale is also different, there's epic battles but you must play the territories and maybe do some behind enemy lines work. Its very big on zerg warfare as well.
If you want to be top dog and care about your k/d then epic scale warfare games are not for you.
Those types tend to die more by getting knifed by infiltrators or they simply don't help anyone and thus themselves.
The game is literally as good as the time you put into it and its awful and crap for everyone who starts for the first time. Not buying stuff exacerbates it also. Some swear that the paid for stuff doesn't help but I noticed an instant change in killing ability.
Also, get nanoweave and upgrade that as its damage reduction, 20% damage reduction at level 5.
You might also find out that the class you wanted to play isn't actually what you are good at or even enjoy in a game like ps2.

Fixed me lord.
I will play destiny IF I see something new it has to offer but right now.
Ultiima online>every mmo so far on every platform.
I was a murdering bastard and gangked people solo at their local bank.
Yes it didn't have 3d graphics and is old but nothing compares to actually robbing real players homes and murdering people within a game and looting their corpse.
Or res killing them over and over and over and over and...........what?............I was young lol.
I rode atop my trusty massive beetle steed.
With a mighty pitchfork.
My red bandana to signify how much of a scumbag I was.
Pyroblast, mindlay, psychic scream, explosion.
Tears and profit.

I was looking forward to it replacing Dust for when it shuts down, but I'll have to find another game instead.
PSBomber, you lied. It's not better than this game at all. Overall first impressions from the two and DUST just feels better. PS2 only gets enjoyable IMO when you are playing with 2-10+ people. And as a group you get stuff done. But the weight of the game... The Feeling that what you do matters... IS vastly lost on PS2. For most DUST players... The Sheer scale of PS2 will be overwhelming.
Its brutal and there's no proper tutorial so people don't understand why things are being taken and whine when capping points as they don't understand how to cap to maximise cert points and force a huge battle.
We going around capping points to force the enemy into fighting us with all they have. I'm still getting used to it though.
It does make me laugh how people say it isn't pay to win, I'd like them to try and say that to my mini gun lol.
1000 cert point just to unlock it. That's roughly 10 days if you play for aboutv3 hours a day OR -ú8......................
Edit: and that would have to be with an organised team of around 40 people winning every engagement for 10 days.

What fks new players is the lack of knowing........
Map knowledge (3 whole continents)
The spawn points
Knowing jump pads exist
Re deploy instead of a long trek
Ttk*
Not having any cert points in anything
Knowing that there are methods behind taking objectives
Not knowing that if you want a war or battle then you have to make it happen (unless there's an alert)
Knowing that you can't take objectives unconnected to one already taken**
*bf4 style
**poor bastards run all that way for this 'you do not have a region connected to this outpost' and didn't know any better.
Planet side 2 offers epic scale fights with clear cut role definition.
Dust offers immersion with deep customisation
Ps2 has decent vanity items and isn't dead though. There's also a new continent soon and its coming to ps4 so I might transfer my char as the PC and ps4 use the same sht on that level, forgot the actual correct terminology but a dev said there's no reason not to do it.

It is a beast but I can 1 v 1 them easy with my heavy infantry fit provided I have my nanite shield ready and that I now have the mini gun.
Even if you nearly kill them, that means an ally can finish them off while you re spawn.
Or you can run away...........
The bottom line is that its a heavy and at least it functions as one, no free SMG kills on them in ps2. It also needs an engineer to keep it in the fight.
They only proper stomp when they are facing newbs, that goes for anything though.

Working as a heavy should.
No easy back shot kills with an SMG in ps2.
