There are plenty of players that have quit Dust recently. And now with rumors of the Sony/CCP contract expiring in November I'm sure more and more players will be leaving the game.
So if you plan to quit the game please help my ADS addiction and spot me a few mil. I will ensure your ISK will be used to rain down hell on the enemy until the servers are finally unplugged.
Thank you for your consideration.

I've heard them from several different players and there are a few posts about it already.
Whether the rumor is true or not, players are still quitting and Dust's days are still numbed.

So my prediction is that a month from now there will be a huge decrease in active players.
Also CCP is still trying to sell aur and that makes me ******* pissed.

Wasn't GTA V supposed to cause a huge decrease in active players when it released? Or was it FF14? Or when the PS4 came out? Dust's numbers haven't really changed to a noticeable extent in all this time. I would argue that the only difference is that some vets are leaving while new players are actually sticking around more than before.

lol... did you forget the news at FF?
No game will kill DUST when CCP is doing that job already. While I don't know the numbers, I'm willing to bet, this game had more consistent active players in the beta phases, than it has now. Remember the day when DUST had 9000+ people online? I do, I was on playing at that time. Now? 3000-4000 people, and I'm willing to bet the majority are players new to the game, and have no idea what CCP did.
But fanboys will be delusional, and say DUST would never die... the game is essentially dead when no new real updates will ever come out on PS3. Enjoy |

You do know the "current players online count used to be 8k peak right?
I doubt the current peak of 4k means more are playing.

Probably would have stayed longer if R* didnt screw things up as bad as CCP. Im still waiting for heists...

But fanboys will be delusional, and say DUST would never die... the game is essentially dead when no new real updates will ever come out on PS3. Enjoy The situation is probably more grim than we're even making it out to be. IF we compare really a tentative view of "launch" and now there are a few things we're going to also have to add in:
- really bad player retention; when the game launched players had incentives to continue playing and the gaps for weapons used and employed didn't have any over-arching, significantly over powering weapons. Yea we used to see the GEK in action a lot but you still had ppl relying on it more so than say a Duvolle which was a pretty good sign that ppl weren't that ready to protostomp
- it's metacritic score at least can reliably at some level indicate the enthusiasm that players received the game and also how much potential it has to grow
- add to the current numbers for now versus then
So what we now have is a lower playerbase with less enthusiasm to either pick up the game or an inability ti retain players that do pick it up. So the market of players who are looking for similar games like Dust have really Destiny which, unlike games mentioned above from Final Fantasy:ARR to GTAV, are actually competing in the same genre area as Dust is; it's a direct competitor and one that has a huge experience and lineage of making these types of games.
When you look at the situation in that manner it doesn't look as awesome or bright. Add to the recent and utterly horrible manner that they handled Legion and players who do a quick search on Dust to find out if its worth their time just might be utterly discouraged. All games get a bad review here and there but Dust is something like Duke Nukem when it was released; you can't find much of anything positive in a google search without really trying to search for it. |

i think your best point here is the reviews of dust. There are no "amazing" reviews of dust most of them are mediocre and never improved much. So when players hear about dust and research it a bit they are not going to be thrilled. They might try it out just to see if it is as bad as the reviews say it is. If they join in and promptly get protostomped they are probably going to leave the game and find a better use of the hard drive space.
