I am a man. I play a female character. I do this because males have very wide shoulders, and I can't tell you how many times I've had a duel with another sniper and dropped him with a triple shoulder shot. I am hoping that tiny body means smaller collision boxes, maybe they are just the same, but I doubt it.
I am quite confident neither I or any actual woman that plays this game enjoy having our characters sexually harassed in the lobby or in the field. Things like walking into us repeatedly, or circling us like roosters doing a mating dance... giving us gifts of nano hives is not appreciated either. I am wearing a prototype logistics suit. I have nano hives, two slots of nano hives, because sometimes 2 nano hives is just not enough.
When you are running haplessly along, and you see a teammate in an out of the way place (I am typically between 400-600meters from whatever objective I am covering, and I am effective in that range), I and many other snipers would appreciate a wide berth. Don't come running over just to drop a nano hive at our feet. Those of us that are likely to live long enough to require a nano hive typically HAVE them equipped on our drop suits. We'll drop them when we need them, and not before. Dropping a nano hive is a great way to invite the enemy to shoot at us. It's nice that the nano hive range bubble no longer flanks us in neon lights, but it's still obvious when you get your crosshairs over it. They may not be able to actually SEE me because of my dampeners, but they can surely see that nano hive you just dropped at my feet, and there's a good chance they'll send some bullets at me just to make sure there's nobody there.
One little tip: cloaked players, and even those with really awesome dampers, that cross hair dot still turns red, whether they can visually tell you are there or not. I've gotten a few kills because of that dot turning red, even though I could not see what/who I was shooting at.
In addition to not dropping a nanohive, just you running over, is probably going to peak someones curiosity... hey why is that logi running toward the edge of the map, I'mma follow them, oh look, a sniper! We've been looking for them ALL ROUND!!!
In closing:
1. Don't Harass Female Characters - It is probably a guy, I say this because after being sexually harassed in the lobby constantly, I'm sure all the women have rerolled as men.
2. Don't go chasing toward your teammates that are in out of the way places. If you are sniping, and someone is in your spot, find another spot. Stay at least 50 meters away from snipers that are already set up. This applies to terrain snipers only. -If you snipe from rooftops, I think the more the merrier. Especially if you are on the opposing team. It's like fish in a barrel...
3. Don't go dropping nano hives at the feet of other snipers that are already set up in an out of the way spot. It's more obnoxious than helpful. If you want points, go drop it in a hotspot near the objective.
If you've ever sniped, you know it's far easier to find snipers when there are 2 or more reds in close proximity. Snipers are a lone wolf type of class. Please give us space.
