To be fair, that's because when I logged in to find 4.9M unallocated SP after several months of having forgotten about this game when I first made the character, I saw Electronics and ran it up to 5.... but it was 3am and I did not see the Engineering skill right below it. So I have Engineering at 2... Min Scout 3.
I'm finding that I make a new scout fit at least every two or three days, for different situations. For instance, my shotgun fit has two shield extenders and a Enh damage mod (adv shotgun, std magsec, ADV cloak, flux, std REs, Enh damp and I think a PG mod.
My bread and butter fits are:
Sidearm damage mod
2x Precision Enhancer
Either 2x Damp or Damp + Range Amp
Adv CR
ZN's
Flux
Adv Cloak
Stable Uplink
And
Same highs
Same lows
ZN's
Std Magsec
Locus
Adv Cloak
Std REs
I'll go with the first suit to the enemy home point (in pubs or FW), put a discreet link somewhere nearby in the wasteland, with their CRU in between if possible (so when I die, I can re-hack the CRU on my way back to the point). After I die, I'll come back with the RE fit. Nobody uses my random-looking uplink all the way over there, so it usually lasts the whole match. Hack point, place remotes, kill whoever comes to take it back if they come by ones or twos. If they come stronger than that, I fade back and keep an eye on things or just go hack another point, then get myself killed and return through my own uplink later (taking the CRU on the way by). After I get another hack off, the heat's usually died down at their home point and it becomes mine again. Then rehack the point, place remotes. It's funny how rare it is for people to flux.
I've noticed that REs places against light textures tend to get shot, ones placed on darker textures are entirely missed. When I do well, I've gotten 1300+ WP from just hacks and 4 or 5 kills with the knives, without anyone using my links to give me free WP, even if my KDR is somewhat negative at the end of it. when I do poorly... I had 125 WP one match -- hacking my home point, a team spawn, and a K/D of 0/13.
With the exception of my CRG Shotgun fit, which I haven't used in a couple of weeks, I don't have any HP mods on my suits. Because of PG. I feel I get more bang for the buck out of 2x precision enhancer rather than 1 Basic shield extender and 1 PE... 22 hit points isn't gonna save me from that HMG or that shotgun or that CR or that anything else... so I finally said '**** it. I just have to be sneakier.'
