This game is literally unplayable in a minmitar scout, with low HP and deprived CPU and PG, I can't freking fit anything on it.. I have level 4 in minmitar scout and when I put a ADV cloak, I have to fit an enhanced CPU and a enhanced PG to fit it. Also, nova knives are trash except for proto.
Did I forget to mention the fact that Kin Cats so much PG?
Also, it's annyoing getting murderd like amarr scout because amarr and minmitar have no ewar capabilities.
I run proto min scout. I will tell you that you do want at least 4 in electronics and 4 in engineering before fitting a cloak. Until then just be a scout without one.
Here was my Adv Min Scout when I was at 3 in min scout. And I was at 3 from the start of 1.8. I use ALOT OF BOOSTERS so I was able to work my way up to 22+ mil SP since I started the game.
3x enhanced Extenders (Or whatever combo of basics and enhanced that will fit)
1x complex dampener
1x basic armor plate
BK-42 combat Rifle
Flaylock pistol (I consistently play with people amazed what this can do when I use it)
Basic Nades
RS-9 uplinks
Compact nanohives
I would substitute the Uplinks with a STD cloak after I died for the first time.
I had a 1.5+ KDR during that time. I'm not that great of a slayer so I don't have that great of a KDR in general. My friend calls me an A-Hole because what I do is harass large groups of people moving from one null to the other trying to distract them while the rest of the team either surrounds them or gets other hacks. Anyway....
I went to 4 in Electronics and Engineering before 1.8 so I was already set for success. I would strongly suggest you goto 4 in those two. You almost have to to be competitive with more experienced players no matter what suit you wear. You are DEFINITELY going to need it when proto to edge out other proto players or at least be even with them.
That fit is about 40 to 60k and I would just wear MLT shields an dMLT armor plate and Basic combat rifle on a variant to save ISK when I wanted to. Yes, EHP is lower than Gal but not much less than a Cal equivalent., Yes your hack isn't as awesome as you may want it to be BUT it still worked well. I just escorted other groups of players. An example is a heavy and logi run in through a door to take people on and then back out. I would be ready for the people that rushed out to chase them while the heavy reloaded or something. I would hack when a heavy or medium got to a null hoping that they would fend off anyone that would try to surprise me. I beat more than my share of Cal and Gal proto scouts during this time.
I did have one where instead of the armor plate I wore my complex hack module
You can do it. Stick it out until you are proto OR switch to another scout before spending that 1.2 mil sp. It is completely up to you.
So many people tell me the min scout sucks. And it sort of does but I'm a better player for it.
Again:
1) Stay in groups and provide support
2) Don't hack alone, hack with others and help get it faster
3) Don't take on every 1v1, escape and get back to a group or just buy time. The min scout, in my mind, is a harraser. It gets hacks when no one is looking forcing resources on the battlefield to redirect to that null. Giving room for the team to be more successful elsewhere.
4) Don't think you HAVE TO fit cloak. Run needles and hives and pseudo logi by picking up the proto sentinals. They appreciate you saving their 80k isk fits and the proto logi's appreciate you picking them up to. I assure you that they do.
5) Don't give up on it. I think when I finally go into another scout I am going to be better than a decent number of other scouts of that race simply because of the difficulty of being a min scout.
6) Ensure that you have 5 points in Dampening at the bare minimum. If you don't have this do not skill into the min scout any further until you do.
7) Nova Knifes are a hobby in my opinion. I have met very, VERY few players to be succesfull against good players with NK. I don't have 1 point in NK to be honest. I would avoid them until you are proto and have some ISK to spare until you can get good at them. I hate them. It is too hard for me to do any of the things I want. yes, I did try the basic AUR ones even though I don't have 1 point in them.
I really hope this helps. I know how hard it is to be a min scout. Keep at it. Take advantage of SP events and boosters when you can if you can.

LOL, smarty pants. Alright. So, since you meet all of those requirements I'm sorry to say that CCP effed up the cloak fitting for Min Scout. I believe I +1'd a thread when someone else mentioned it BUT once I got to proto I was fine BUT that being said, I wouldn't mind just 4PG boost. Never had a problem with CPU, don't know why.
As far as NK. I suck with them. I just do. You are right and you are not the only person to tell me this. Since I do PC (more of a recent thing) I don't see people running with them for good reason. Every heavy in very competitive matches is accompanied by cloaked shot gun scouts, another heavy, and logis. Sneaking up on a heavy with NK is just a lot more difficult there.
My fit was the fit I used and I had success and those were the situations I was successful with it. Keep at it. Make your own out of the min scout.
I standby my suggestions of how to use the min scout. Play with it and explore extremes like my shotgun scout with 3x complex precision enhancers, 2x complex dampeners, 1x range amp. If you can't make it work the way you want then it may not work even when you go proto.
