Right now my adv scout with full damp prof gets 25% off of scans. 30 dbs isnt s***. 35% off of 40 dbs is 26. In many cases 26 dbs isnt s***. I saw a caldari proto scout go 55/3 in a dom 2 days ago.
The idea of gimping gal scouts in all of this ia crazy. 90% of all the games played revolve around heavies and tanks during DOMS!!!!!!!!!!!

1st off this change is completely justified. It has been explained so thoroughly that anyone against the changes are either mad b/c they can't have as easy time doing well or trolling.

Ok, to summarize, They are nerfing both Cal and Gal scouts to make medium suits more competitive.
1) There are no medium suits that can compete with the current scout suits except if the are competing against min or amarr scout
2) Gal scouts can be as fast as fast or faster than a 2x complex Kinkat min scout BUT have more dampening, more HP, and more scan range. The min scout is even better than the Amarr Scout so imagine that.
3) CCP recognizes that there are a lot of scouts being used to do things that are reserved for medium suits. They want them to be more specialized. Scouts shouldn't be over 9m/s sprint speed with 600 hp and not scanable. It doesn't make sense. medium suits can't do 600 hp with a 9m/s sprint speed let alone also be unscannable.
4) There is another hidden nerf to the Gal scout. The basic/Mlt armor plates will cost more PG and Basic and Enhanced will have a larger penalty to sprint speed. So now, if a Gal scout wants to be bricked out, it will be as slow or slower than a medium. it won't be completely stealth. And basically operate as a medium with a cloak, which I think is still fairly damn good. They are encouraging scouts to use reactive or ferroscale.
5) Lastly you forgot that they are nerfing scout armor rep from 3hp/s to 1hp/s. Again, to help eliminate gal scouts that are bricked out, stealth, fast, and rep armor so fast. Again, no medium or other scout can do this as well as the gal no matter what module combinations are used
That is the summary. If you cannot comprehend these small facts then you are just a whiner who is, likely, a terrible player who needs everything they can to be successful. Besides that, wearing 2x complex dampeners on your gal scout instead of 1x is not that big of a deal. If it is then re-read the second sentence of this paragraph.

Ironically, those same problems are currently present with the Passive Scanner, and it's the some of same people who called for the Active Scanner nerf defending the Passive Scanner nerf. There is no way to counter a Scout w/ Precision Enhancers without becoming a Scout yourself; which is bad for a reason I've already explained eariler, so allow me to copy/paste: Quote: One class/role/frame/tactic/item, be it an ADS, HAV, AV weapon, Scout, Mass Driver, HMG, etc, should never have it's only viable counter be a subset of itself. Atiim and I have our differences on AV but I 100% agree with his statement here. There shouldn't be one specialized counter to another or require that you have to do the same thing that the other user is doing in order to compete or be competitive. Unfortunately Gal vs Cal and vice versa exactly in that category. No other suit in medium or heavy or even scout (A and M scouts) can be in this category. A very large part of the community agrees with this.
And I have to laugh that I didn't recall all of those whiners about the 360 degree proto (15db) scans that got spammed in 1.7 and before. It's ironic that some names that whined about it are currently proto cal scouts.
I run G-Assault with an AR too, for fun. I think the AR buff will push that assault to an OP status. Unfortunately, people have given up on the AR. I think all of those people with extra SP and maxed out AR might find their way back and really have some fun as a G-Assault. I'm just not sure it's worth going to 5 with G Assault (all of that damn SP) to use up my 30 balac's or just goto 3 or 4 and use LP Proto G-Assault suits instead.
@Atiim, for the record I did the math (new match b/c appearently my old math was wrong lol) and my Proto A-Logi with 3 complex precision enhancers is going to be far more effective than it has been lately in tracking down scouts or they are going to be paper thin in order to get by. The nerf to cloak dampening will provide a reward for this.
