Dusters Blog wrote:keep in mind our intent was to create a top ten list for the HOF. with only 10 slots we wanted as little overlap as possible. we tried to grab the preeminent guy in each field with a focus on what actually happened in the game world. so we had questions like:
who was Dust's most elite player? the answer was alldin kan
who was the best alliance leader, mastermind & manipulator? kane spero
who led the field in terms of suggestions and design balance ideas w/o favoring anyone in particular? kagehoshi
what was the most elite corp? the imperfects early, but teamplayers had the most longevity.
who did the most for the community in-game? easy answer - Kevall the CEO of Dust University
We chose shottygobang for his contribution to revamping the scout and influencing the registry movment. we felt cazaderon went above and beyond in terms of service on multiple levels website, suggestions, elite gameplay, CPM and his resignation from that group will always earn high marks with us...in our opinion he is the ultimate Dust player.
then we looked at corps with longevity and the ability to constantly reinvent themselves and stay relevant. Many dont like guys like quickgloves and zionshad but they were the best at this. both also managed huge corps well and could have dominated the game if it grew. people like to insult them but CEOs like Shad, QG and CBJ were basically handicapped by CCPs decision to make the game a 16v16 shooter. had it given us the asymmetrical warfare we all wanted who knows what they could have accomplished. Especially since both TCD and STB had a lot of good players.
we were bound to leave out people many of you thought should have made the list, but ask yourself if they were more deserving than the people we chose, and most importantly...................why?
Shad and CBJ would have dominated the game if it grew? Is this a joke? You're talking about zerg tactics, then a few lines later mention "allot of good players"? Zerg tactics and skill are completely different things. If they had allot of skilled players, then 16v16 would have enable them to dominate PC.
Zion was already the biggest corp in the game, and they were by all means USELESS when PC came out. QG was also a joke. I remember when NF took their planet in 2 weeks, and QG hired TP to take it back. Did you forget that or was that conveniently not mentioned?
The first big war, CRONOS vs EON... I don't think you realize it, but TP was busy with NF on STB's planet. During that period EON's other corps were the ones that were fighting battles against CRONOS, because it was rumored that the EU timezones were not the best for them. There were a couple TP ringers, but the majority of EON fights were fought by OTHER EON corps. But I guess you didn't know that because you weren't there to see it, but like always, you make up stuff.
TP, IMP, and the CEO of Dust Uni is the only thing I agree with on that list. Everything else just comes across as uneducated guesses with opinions motivating the majority of it.
