this is really need since the minmatar assault shouldn't be forced to shield tank all the time and the caldari shouldn't dual tank as well as it should.
it also just doesn't make sense lore wise and you guys said you were switching this a while back so why haven't you?

I propose a 5H/3L slot layout on both the proto caldari and minmatar assault.
3H/5L for proto amarr and gallente.
And of course normalization of the standard/advanced tiers as well. The progression is kind of wierd for some assault dropsuits. |

Are you ******* crazy? no one is tanking the Cal assault, no one is using the cal asault - I'm probably the only dumb **** in the game who has it at proto
Even if you max out the Cal assault with Shield and Armour - you can still get more on the Gal Assault, Gal Logi, Cal logi, and almost the same HP on the Gal Scout. |

speed penalty and PG/CPU increase on armor should prevent dual tanking Caldari (to a degree)
however I disagree that dual tanking be discouraged. i just think it should be less effective than using shield regs than it currently is on Caldari. this game is a sandbox and if you want to customize your fit to dual tank, you should be able to, but it should come with a price. For example putting shield extenders on Amarr or Gallente heavies is unheard of, but can be somewhat effective when running a Forge Gun or Assault HMG
what the hell are you talking about with Min Assault bein forced to shield tank? personally I used to dual tank my Min Logi and it worked fine. it had at least 4 low slots if I remember, does the Assault not have 4?

Current assault suit slot layout is as follows: Cal: 4H, 3L Gal: 3L, 4H Min: 5H, 2L Amr: 3H, 3L
This is rather contrary to lore as far as I know. With these layouts a Caldari or Gallente can dual tank efficiently where a Minmatar has no choice and must tank shields or die. Amarr can dual tank too but for some strange reason has a whole slot missing (and again very strangely also has more cpu/pg than the other assaults).
Better slot layout: Cal: 5H, 2L Gal: 2H, 5L Min: 4H, 3L Amr: 3H, 4L
With these layouts a Caldari or Gallente assault will be far more based upon shields or armour respectively, much more in line with eve lore; and the Minmatar and Amarr would be able to dual tank more effectively while being less effective at each than the pure shield or armour suits. Base CPU/PG should also be the same for each racial variant, currently the Gallente and Caldari have equal CPU and PG but the Minmatar have more, and the Amarr have even more - but with less slots to fill.
