I would like to see a MAG style communications system (depending on what type of gamemodes Legion has).
Neat little video on the roles within MAG.
In Large Team Battles:
8 Squad leaders of 8 people
2 Platoon leaders of 32 people
1 Commander of 64 people
All squads have open mics (not push to talk)
If you are a Squad leader, Platoon leader or Commander you can push button 'A' to talk to all other players with roles
If you are a Platoon leader, you can push button 'B' to talk to everyone in your Platoon
If you are Commander, you can push button 'B' to talk to everyone

Most PC players already use a third party app for voice Comms. But it doesn't mean that the game shouldn't have a robust voice chat client.
Communications is going to be a part of the NPE so I'll be keeping a close eye on this.

The in-game comms in dust is a really nice feature, to allow players to meet each other in a wider context.
Having corps compartmentalized to their own comms servers would prevent this sort of community mixing.

Me and probably most players will be using third party tools for communication that will besides linking them tot heir squads link them to fleets orbiting space as well.
But yeah, having a good tiered comms in game would be neat, why not?
Its like EVE, it has voice, it isnt bad, but most organized people will use other tools. But its there in case of a need. |
