Hey CCP and forums.
A while ago I posted a bug report about the repair tools no longer giving the orange glow when being repped. One of the CCP devs said that they knew about this little bug and that it would be fixed for 1.8 if I remember correctly.
Supposedly one of the engineers was already aware of the problem (months ago).
Well we are long past 1.8 and it seems we still do not get the orange repair glow. Can we get it back please? It was incredibly useful. Even more so when not on comms with a tight squad. It was a great way for a heavy / tanked shooter to know that someone had his back and he/she could push and be aggressive with the extra reps. |

If it's a bug...then why do you get (almost) the same orangy glow when hit by a certain weapon? |

how about a small icon pops up on the hud that can be turned off so at least the players that wish to know when they are being healed can see it

Fair enough but...
They already have that orange glow somewhere in the game.... they just need to turn it on again.
I'm just curious why this hasn't already been done as CCP devs said themselves that it was something they had fixed..... |

I remember one dev saying they didn't even realize it was gone (makes more sense post-fanfest).
No reason not to bring it back, but if we are making suggestions, it was a bit overdone and could use some scaling back. Maybe a smaller area like the current hit detector, which also used to be more obtrusive when it was first put in (remember that horrible broken glass and groaning noise they put in at the same time? God that was awful... 1.4 was it?)
An idea I've always liked was maybe just make the armor HP gauge on the HUD pulse or even put the gold shimmer around the HUD itself, not the entire screen, when you were being repped. More subtle but still just as effective.

Quitting cold turkey was impossible. The forum patch is helping me kick the habit

To the OP, yes, that'd be nice. Or some form of identifying you're bring replied like your armor bar glowing a different colour or something.

I think that at the least, the part of your heads up display that shows armor should glow while you have an active repair beam upon you.
If this game was fun, I wouldn't be playing it.

Its cool that you guys have even better ideas about the 'Being repaired indicator'. Granted CCP could make it a little less obtrusive.
I am here just to point out that it is something that WAS / IS already in the game somewhere and that the DEVS themselves said it was only a minor thing. Also some form of indication that you are being repaired is something the community would love to have back in some form. |
