The Council of Planetary Management (CPM) is a community elected body that represents the interests of the DUST 514 community to CCP. The CPM is an important part of the development process in CCP Shanghai, and works closely with CCP on a range of topics. They bring a range of practical experience to the discussion, both from themselves and from the wider community. They also function as an advocacy group for the gaming community, bringing issues to CCP directly.
The CPM is comprised of seven players elected by means of an STV7 vote. Any account at least 90 days old and with at least 60 hours of playtime may cast votes. Elections take place yearly, and anyone that meets the requirements is encouraged to participate in the process. Remember, the CPM are your representatives: make sure your voice is heard!
Applications for candidacy for positions on CPM1 are now being accepted. Before applying, prospective candidates should be aware of the following:
- All CPM members are bound by a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Any prospective candidate that is judged unable to comply with the NDA may be denied candidacy. Likewise, anyone incapable of entering into the NDA will be denied candidacy.
- By applying, you agree to have your full name, character name, country of residence, and all campaign information published by CCP as part of the election process.
- Any applicants will have all of their accounts (EVE and DUST) audited by Internal Affairs
- Your age must be at least 21 at the time that the CPM is instated.
- Your account must also meet all the requirements specified in the CPM White Paper for Candidate Eligibility.
- The CPMGÇÖs primary duties still pertain to DUST 514. CPM1 will have limited involvement with Project Legion.
- As it is still early days for the CPM as an institution within CCP, candidates should be aware that development of processes between CCP and the CPM are still underway.
- At this time CPM 1 will not be flown to Fanfest by CCP. The CPM Summit in Shanghai will still take place as normal and candidates must be able to travel to China.
If you wish to apply, please send the following details to [email protected] with the subject GÇ£[CPM Application GÇô {your name}]GÇ¥:
- Your name
- All of your character names (both EVE characters and DUST characters)
- The character name you wish to run under
- Your age
- Full colour scan of your passport
- Your full street address
- A short summary of your candidate position (this will be visible on the voting portal, max 300 characters)
- (Optional) A longer body of text describing your position as a candidate (this will be visible on the voting portal, max 1000 characters)
- (Optional) A summary of why you believe you are a suitable candidate for the CPM (will not be published)
Applications are due at 23:59 UTC on the 30th of June, 2014. Any applications after this date will not be considered. Details on when voting will open will be given at a later date, but will likely be in July.

Does this include both active and inactive accounts on EVE?
Preferably both, but if you can't remember inactive ones then just note there's more inactive ones. The IA guys are really good at finding any and all alts you may have.

Fox Gaden wrote:Are we getting an Election specific forum, or should we continue to use this one? Either way, I need to recreate a number of threads as the old ones are too far out of date. I just need to know where to put them.
Also, I assume you will be posting the names of the people who's applications have been accepted and who are officially in the race?
I want to only include the people who are officially in the race in all future election coverage threads.
Threads should go here, in this forum section. If there's enough people that it becomes an issue of crowding the forums, I'll get a new forum made for the threads to go into.

Just to warn you, there isn't going to be very much time for sight seeing as you're going to be locked in a meeting room with various devs for a few days. That's what the Summit is all about.

Aeon Amadi wrote:What qualifies as a "Full colour scan of your passport"? I don't have a scanner, can I use my phone/digital camera?
I need to be able to clearly see all the details on the main identification page of your passport. If your phone or camera can do that, then that's good enough (scanners are much better though).

Soraya Xel wrote:Kevall Longstride wrote:I was already budgeting to pay for Fanfest anyways. o7 Indeed. CCP can't hide us from their party. If we are not invited, we shall invite ourselves. Nobody will forget the name DUST 514! I'm not sure if the no flight to Fanfest thing is just there to discourage people from running to win a free trip to Iceland, or if they literally are less fond of having CPM at Fanfest as a reminder of how badly they failed their community at this years', but I plan to be there either way. As we learned with CPM0, while they are awesome partiers and drinkers (but not as awesome as me, of course), it would have been very useful to get them facetime with the development team in Shanghai. We wanted to ensure they had the opportunity to do that this time, even if that came at the expense of a trip to Fanfest.
I do hope they would be able to join us at the party on the top of the world regardless, though. A beer on me if they make it out.

When and where will these names be published? [Requesting link for ease of use unless the statement is "in this forum section" ] Still wondering this
Next week I hope to have both a new forum section for candidate threads a list stickied in that section. Just waiting on IA approval of candidates before I start posting them publicly.
