I really don't understand why people are still playing this game and talking about game mechanics. I 100% believe CCP just does not care. (please tell me why your still playing?)
The new CCP director will just blame all problems now on the old director. They are in a state where even if it gets bad they have a excuse. Typical when this type of thing happens in business. - Ultimately this means Dust is in a continued state of failure and there is no reason for CCP to change that.
Dust 514 was failure from the start and many of us saw it and still hoped CCP would pull through.
1. Not connected to EVE to start = Fail
2. A FPS on a different gaming platform = Fail
3. Flavor of the month game style = Fail
Now Legions promises everything we wanted Dust to be. Guess what I thin kyour FULL OF IT!
EVE account = cancelled (already done)
Dust = Dropped
CCP New direction = Fail
Maybe you should just focus on EVE only EVE. |

Question; why are YOU still playing? You don't seem to like much (if anything) about the game? Do you even care about your ISK? May I have it?
As to to why I'm still playing...well, Dust514 is a Hell of a drug.

Something to do while I am waiting for Destiny beta.
The game is OKish and I am happy to play for now and see no reason to buy another while waiting for Destiny and PC2.

Playing I can understand. I'll play Dust now and then to try tospend some of my proto gear and burn some ISK. But I can't fathom why people are arguing about balance for this dead game. It doesn't matter and even if it did matter CCP will duck it up any way

How do you not understand? It doesn't take some long post to explain. People still enjoy playing the game. It's that simple. I'm still having a great time in New Eden. Why take that from myself because of a stupid announcement at FF? It's not worth it.

Team Fortress 2: Great game. Too class restrictive.
Borderlands 2: ALL THE YES. Only one main storyline. No competitive multiplayer. Only 4 player co-op
Unreal Tournament 3: When did this game come out again? No progression system.
Okay, how about something not so mainstream?
Resistance 2: THE BEST Co-Op...oh wait sony shut the server down.
Resistance 3: Mutations? AWESOME. Leveling your weapons by using them? AMAZING. Multiplayer? Oh wait they shut this server down too.

You make a great point. For FPS players.... I found my refuge in MechWarrior Online. Others have in World of Tanks - But that is not the same console as you.... I can see legion is not your friend either

Even posting on the forums is a decaying and dieing habit.
Where before a posted thread was gone from the front page in a few hours now it is common for it to stay days on the front page.
Thus many no longer daily post and most are moving from a post every three days to once per week or less.
As far as playing Dust 514? does log in for a few minutes before saying meh!! and selecting quit count?
About the only thing left to decay is the ISK biomass farmers who add 750 to 1000 or more to the hourly player counts while they only chill in merc quarters.
And now time for FFX HD then in two weeks its FFX -2 HD then finishing Infamous SS, then on to Watch Dogs, then alternate with Destiny, Warframe and War Thunder, Blacklight.
And as far as forums its mostly Bungie and Bethesda forums these days.

That sounds familiar!
I play sparingly, mostly because I like playing with the guys in my corp/alliance and remain addicted to the LR. Certainly I won't be spending another dime on the game, though.
But, like Shayz said, once Destiny and Battlefront 3 come out, Dust is pretty much done.
Quitting cold turkey was impossible. The forum patch is helping me kick the habit!

Nothing has really changed except that my timeframe to keep playing went from 10 years to 2. This is 4 times longer than I have already played it so why would I stop? Six months is good for a game, ONLY another year or two is not a bad deal, only disappointing because I assumed more.
Because, that's why.

CCP might care or not, i play this game because i like it. I never played it based on promises, and even though i felt a bit disappointed after the Legion announcement, i see no reason to stop playing.
