Doesn't work with buddy invites sadly 
I would either go with the first or the third option. The first is basically a free 30 day full account with some neat skill boosters on top and the last gives you a PLEX on top of that for 20$. You can either use that PLEX to add an additional 30 days to your account or sell it on the ingame market for ~700mil ISK, which is more than you can spend in the beginning. The second option just gives you a re-skinned standard frigate, not really worth it. Oh, and charity :3

Also consider purchasing multiple starter packs. I've currently purchased 8 packs for $0.08 and plan to attempt the Plex or Die challenge, which is adapted from the PlexIn21 challenge.

The codes you get from the sale are for creating new accounts. So no, they won't work with accounts created via buddy invites.

Did you actually try it? I upgraded buddy trial with a starter pack a few minutes ago, worked fine for me. The referrer reward was simply not eligible.
