Normally in DUST I curse the guy/gal who kills me and immediately assume they must be massive cheats - but every so often I feel a pang of respect for the enemy if they take me down in some super-skilled way..

Here are three of my favourite deaths..

* Parked up on a ridge to get an overview of the null cannon I take a sniper shot and lose half my armour. Hurry back to the car and try to drive away only to be shot from the driver's seat like a lame dog.. Respect..

* Running Milita gear in ambush on the isk farm I decide to get in a car and just murder taxi. Stuck in a sunken surround I keep on failing to run one guy over. He could have just left the surround but instead he toys with my awkward attempts to mash him under my wheels and eventually lands enough pistol hits to kill me dead.. RESPECT!

* Guilty! Deciding to start an alt I go into the academy at about 1 in the morning. For some reason it's just me and one other dude/dudess - and they clearly aren't on the make like me. A genuine noob. As I set about hacking everything and killing this guy dead every time I see him - does he leave? Hell no! He sticks it out and puts up with something like a dozen deaths before finally learning and hacking the cannon. As I try to take it back - I get a volley of milita bullets in the back. Just 1 kill for the noob.. but a lifetime of respect...

I like how the OP starts off talking about favorite deaths, and everyone takes that to mean favorite kills...

Recently, I had a red kill me with a standard tactical sniper rifle, from relatively close range (easily under 100m, possibly under 50), while I was on the move to take him out. It was a great shot.

Otherwise, its always those that have knifed me in a knife duel. Those always get respect.
