And a large population of vets have jobs (yes jobs) and didn't play every hour of the day. It was hard as he'll for me to cap out every week. CCP has giving plenty of opprotunities for new players to get into proto gear. But the devs can't hold your hand while spec'ing. For Christ sake spec one weapon one suit and your cores and with 12+ mil you to can proto stomp. And before you say "well you made all your isk in PC" bullsh!t. I was always on the boarder line of broke. Untill era started paying large contracts. And I had to earn a spot it wasn't handed to me. I'm happy for the new players finally getting some work done but **** had you used your heads to begin with you wouldn't be QQ about getting redlined by 1 proto squad.
Dont pretend you dont know what im talking about. Be honest here, how many times has one of our corp mates dropped a orbital behind someones red line in a game where you had the enemy red lined? Not every vet is a jerk and not every jerk is a vet, but your corp, Team players, stands out as having been a particular nasty bunch in some games that don't stop until everyone is hiding in the MCC. (Then they come onto the forums and demand a solution to MCC campers.)
It just raised some eyebrows seeing someone from Team Players Dirt Nap Squad lamenting about competitiveness, when in reality, that corp and alliance have been in favor of anything but.

Then i would say "I would like to see that". I dont mind losing, i really dont. Its just a matter of how bad the loss is. If I lose but it was a fairly close game, i still have fun. Why? Cause the entire time I felt like victory was possible and i never gave up. Now If I lose, and it was an absolute slaughter, then no i didnt have fun, because if I never had a chance, then the match was pointless.
Be honest, when you fight a guy 1vs1, and almost kill him, its almost more fun than when you fight him and barely melt away 1/4th of his shields. When that happens youre just like "wtf he soaked up 10 AR rounds and barely anything, i took 4 shots and im dead".
if more vets ran STD/ADV, alot more matches/fights would be closer and things would be more fun, even if they still won most of the time. But many vets are too proud to operate with a smaller margin of error. They cant bear the idea of maybe dying in a video game. |

Instead of it just being squads of PC funded protostompers, now you sometimes get games where its mostly casuals instead of tryhards. For most of my time in Dust though, this has been the result of most games: [IMG]http://i945.photobucket.com/albums/ad293/lavalois09/20149_zps674bb60c.jpg]imageSo I kind of hope that alot of these vet players who feel the need to get in squads and proto stomp milita fits decide to not go to legion. Hopefully they take their game breaking ways to another game. All im saying is if they let a playerbase develop, Dust might have been profitable, and the situation today would be different. If these veterans players were an asset instead of a burden, CCP would be trying to keep them instead of opening the door and saying good bye.
Well, I can say that I run proto (proto min logi, with 300 shields and 200 armour, with a carthum assault scrambler rifle, as well as proto equipment and modules) but I don't normally kill people with the set. I run the set because I'm pretty survivable (it's shield tanked with a quick recharge) and because the di lai rep tool gives me the ability to rep from cover. Also, the nanohive and stuff assist the team well. I never run proto for slaying, unless the other team is really good.

I don't think you understand what the competition is in redlined matches; I know when I'm doing the redlining in a full squad (proto or otherwise) at the end of the match the e-peen wagging isn't about the fact that we beat a team of randoms, but that I got more kills than you doing it.
Competition =/= with the other team.
Why should vets operate with a smaller margin of error?
If I were using a Gallente Frontline suit (my main is Gal Q.Q) I'd stack it with proto modules. I'd still have 7-800 EHP. Why? Because I've invested the SP. Because I can.
Why would I gimp my fittings so you can feel good about yourself?

Is this your first FPS, or first FPS that you are good at? You seem awfully proud of that pile of passive SP you are standing on.

Did you read the whole thread or just my latest reply? I feel like you are missing an whole lot of context in your reply to me.
I suggest you go back, read the entire conversation, and then decide if that's what you really wanted to say.

Don't blame players for CCP's crap game design compounded by their total unwillingness to do anything about it(tho they are removing passive isk in PC).

I run adv/proto more proto lately cuase I don't care anymore about my wallet. But that doesn't matter. What's the point of leveling if you just leave your upgrades in the closet. Furthermore, to blame TP for redlining a crap team is a weak defense. What would be the point of corps if we don't run together? This is a team game. Beter people in a full squad will smash any 16 man solo team. I've only been in TP for 3 or so months and lately the corp number is 5-10 at anytime so quit saying that they are the dirtiest. I can personal say that we never used poor tactics to win a pub(hive/uplink spam to create lag, use modded controlers outside of the eagle eye, TK revive for WP) TP is one of the few corps that actually premote team work and corp unity. As for OBs in the redline, get over it. That's on the devs. The community has asked repeatedly to fix redlined. Like no fire in or out and no re-entry. I didn't start this thread to ***** about game tactics. I was just commenting on the pop drop and comparing BF4 to our favorite game. Dust could be so much more than a one sided lobby shooter, and I personally can't wait to shoot some of you a-holes in legion, and getting the change to tea bag eve pilots(who think its fun to jump newbs at warp gates) Name VonSpliff and I am always LFS with fun people

I agree with the OP. For the past few weeks there's been very few good fights in public matches. I've been in quite a few PC matches against TP, HvLP and the like, which were competitive and fun, but barely any pub matches are the same. Maybe a few times throughout the night we'll run into another full squad of protobears and have a battle till the end. Most of those matches depend more on which team has the better blueberries.
All in all public matches have turned into a slaughter house. Still run into Nyian San in ambush on the regular, which makes for at least competitive matches. As for the other game modes? It's like pushing the "I win" button.
I'll admit yes I do run proto throughout almost every battle, just for the simple task of trying to spend the rest of my ISK before the servers go offline. Running solo is something I never enjoyed doing, but at this stage in the game it's really the only way to get difficult fights outside of PC with the big boys who are left. |

Eve tards are funny. Horrible at aiming but funny. Have fun getting owned on PC even worse by a more degenerate level of neckbeards. Eve adds +10 to your intelligence apparently maybe eso would be better.

Nice posts @LAVALLOIS Nash.
And that video is hilarious. The last sin is just ******* hilarious. Two armies set up ready to fight. Guy on the right has a nuke. Launches. They lose. Round Two. Army comes out with a tank. Guy on the right launches a nuke. They lose. The army waves the white flag. The guy on the right launches a nuke. They lose. Reminds me of TP's antics on the battlefield.
